Trolls and taurens. we need trolls. and taurens

Orc: LOTS OF EM
Human: LOTS OF EM
Nelf: LOTS OF EM
Undead: Sylvanas, the queen
Blood elf: Kael’Thas, former king
Dwarf: Muradin and birdmaster Muradin
Worgen: Greymane, but to be fair, is the only relevant one
Goblin: Gazlowe, doing Gazlowe things
Draenei: Yrel just got here, and she feels lonely
Gnome: …Chromie doesn’t count.
Pandaren: We actually have 2 pandas, would you look at that.
Troll: just that one from a long forgotten empire
Tauren: just a made up rockstar

We already stated several times that we need more race diversity in the WoW hero department. So far, we have a lot of orcs and elves, but why are Zuljin and ETC (who isn’t even a real character) the only troll and tauren representatives? And it’s not like we don’t have where to chose from…

I love Warcraft lore. And it’s almost unacceptable that a race with so many different clans and history, like trolls, only have one amani to show. Where are the Darkspear? Where are the Zandalari? Vol’Jin, Rokhan, even princess Talanji would make great additions to the HotS roster.

And taurens… Oh boy, the poor tauren. Instead of giving us the mighty Cairne or Baine, we have ETC. Not even a generic tauren druid, just… ETC. Don’t get me wrong, I love him, but he doesn’t represent the tauren race at all.

I think it’s time we adress these areas, isn’t it? The Horde is big and diverse and we could use at least one leader for each race.

I speak for myself as a old school Horde player, but I think gnome, draenei or goblin fans will think the same way. Chromie is a dragonflight, and Gazlowe is… well… just Gazlowe. Yrel is good for a start, I guess.

The problem is Diablo or Starcraft fans will say that there are enough WoW heroes for now, and they would be right. Too bad we wasted so many good WoW spots. I really look forward to seeing Cairne and Voljin, our gone heroes, to come back in HotS and be immortalized within the Nexus.

As a Tauren Main, i would love to see the mighty Cairne or Baine in here. Even Hamuul as a shapeshifting Druid. I live Trolls too, but Zul’jin definitely makes me happy. Im really glad with his design, and they didnt go for a really skinny troll like a Darkspear. Jungle Trolls from Warcraft 2 are my favorite

I made a concept for Vol’jin that’s trapped in the old forums.

I may repost it on the new one with some revisions if I feel like it.

This right here has been my main frustration with HotS lately. Too many wasted opportunities to bring the game into proper glory and give forgotten/fallen heroes a chance to shine on in the Nexus.

I definitely agree with you on the Trolls and Tauren. You’ve already mentioned the main two Tauren I could think of adding and Trolls would have some absolute justice with Vol’jin.

I am not crazy about dranei or at all a fan of gnomes but I do think they should have solid heroes as well. I think it would have been amazing to have Akama rather then waste a very crowded paladin slot with Yrel (I would have preferred Lady Liadrin as Ret Pally, Vindicator Maraad as Protection, or maybe even the D2 Paladin someday).

Goblins were always interesting to me but I can’t think of any particular characters at the moment. I do remember the female NPCs in WoW because I loved their voice actor and they were usually hilarious. I was thinking The Forsaken didn’t have a “true” Undead hero with Sylvanas but then again, they all were raised as undead the same way. We’ll probably end up with Putress if anything though.

PS: Just wanted to point out that Valeera is also a Blood Elf and Sylvanas is formerly a High Elf. We have a ton of elves but I still think Lady Liadrin as a Ret Paladin needs to happen.

The big characters I am hoping for to fill out the ranks of the factions are:

Gnomes: Gelbin Mekkatorque, with a focus on gnomish engineering to counteract Gazlowe, and his heroics getting to choose one of two new suits, either a Gyrocopter for a fast assaulter or his power suit for a bruiser role.

Forsaken (Sylvanas doesn’t really count, despite being the leader): Lilian Voss as a mageslayer assassin rogue, or Putress as a plague based specialist.

Draenei: We have Yrel already, so getting a broken in with Akama as an infiltrator specialist/assassin mix would be the best option.

Tauren: Cairne, with a kit inspired by Warcraft III but altered substantially to fit HotS better, as a disruptive warrior.

Goblin: Gallywix as a specialist focused around purchasing things and sending his mooks around to collect cash for him. Alternatively, he can be seated in his throne-like Spider Mech for in combat capabilities.

Worgen: While Greymane is the big one, those who have gone through the forsaken and worgen starting zones know of a couple of other cool characters that could fit the description, such as Ivar Bloodfang and Darius Crowley.

Troll: Vol’jin is a must, and a given. I hope that we can also get in Bloodlord Mandokir for good 'ol nostalgia, and/or Rastakhan to tie in with the new expansion.

As a side note, while not part of the horde, Valeera is also a blood elf. If we want another, Lor’themar is an awesome character that could perfectly fit as a spellbreaker ranger hybrid.

I honestly believe that all heroes from W3 should be represented and includet in hots and since there is new dreadlord it seem blizz thinks the same, i need shadow hunter (vol’jin or rokhan) i need tauren chieftain (cairn or baine) i need some darkspear even as skin like headhunter cassia batrider falstad troll witchdoctor nazzebo and there is more options, OP is right andi support this to core of my being

Mekkatorque, in my book, is a MUST. Goblins and gnomes are all about engineering, and Gazlowe is a pretty accurate depiction of the former. I think a master gnome engineer would be really cool and their racial leader fits the spot better than anyone.
Remember when Varian came and Blizz was all like “hey, multi-role, pretty cool huh?” and then they forgot about that concept. Well, Mekkatorque would be an awesome dps/bruiser hybrid to re-open that design idea.

There are a plethora of good ideas in this thread and some seriously good points. I have a very cautious hope that something good will come out of all of this but I don’t wanna let myself get too high on it since the fall will hurt a LOT more. XD

I do have to agree 100% on needing a lot more Multiclass heroes (way too many easy opportunities for this). I feel like 2018 did away with a LOT of what I loved about HotS mechanics wise and it becoming more cookie-cutter MOBA to cater to people who want HotS to be like other MOBAs. I’ve been playing for over 3 years and I’ve heard all the LoL and DotA people constantly complain about the things I love about this game and I’m starting to see less of it as a result. :frowning:

Well they should add all those wc3 characters, there is no carin no akama no voljin or grom and no vashj. Well for the most part they all had their abilities, kinda sad how thralls feral spirits don’t function as individual units.

Yep need a tauren , shadow hunter and some kinda of feral druid that shape shifts.

We already have Garrosh. Lets use those hero slots for literally anything that isn’t an orcish warrior.

All want Grom but don’t see that there are more than enough orcish warriors .
we need other races from WoW

Troll are my favourite and now with bfa they have so much options
Vol’jin, Rokhan, Talanji, Rasthakan, Bwonsamdi would be a cool option too

Tauren have enough options
Baine, Cairne, Hamuul, Ebonhorn (could have dragonform too)

Goblins should have a Gallywix

Gnomes should really get a Mekkatorgue

Draenei should have gotten Velen over Yrel or even Maraad

Worgen don’t have another Option

This reminds me of my “4 of each race” idea that I never got around to posting.

Blood Elves:
Lor’themar - I honestly don’t care, but figured it made sense to have the leader
Lady Liadrin - obvious choice for the ret pally we don’t have yet

Dwarves:
Moira Thaurissan - obvious choice for shadow priest and a female
Brann Bronzebeard - slim pickings for the rest of dwarves, but he could have a unique playstyle
(I’m still okay with Magni being a skin and I honestly don’t care about Hemet)

Gnomes:
Gelbin Mekkatorque - for obvious reasons
Millhouse Manastorm - because he’s super cool
Wilfred Fizzlebang - the demon pet side of warlock, with a fun ability to “morph” into (get killed and replaced by) Jaraxxus at level 20
…and sorry, but I gotta count Chromie as the 4th since there’s basically no female gnomes to pick from

Goblins:
Jastor Gallywix - the only fat goblin and it makes sense to have the leader
Boss Mida? - basically the only female goblin
Marin Noggenfogger - WC3 goblin alchemist

Trolls:
Vol’jin - former troll leader and good pick for the WC3 shadow hunter
Sen’jin or Jin’do the Hexxer - WC3 witch doctor
Mar’li - basically the only notable female troll, plus she could have a cool spider-morph mechanic

Draenei:
Velen, Akama, and Nobundo - basically the only 3 notable Draenei that are left (Yrel stold Maraad’s chance of becoming a hero)

Tauren:
Bovan Windtotem - WC3 spirit walker with a potentially AWESOME playstyle
Magatha Grimtotem - basically the only notable female Tauren
Cairne with a Baine skin - because duh
…and again, not sorry, but I’m counting ETC as the fourth

And lastly, let’s not bother with Worgen since they’re basically just humans with a gimmick and Greymane represents all there is of them to represent anyways

All other races already have at least 4. I know it’s controversial, but I’m counting Kel’Thuzad, Anub’arak, Sylvanas, Stitches, and Arthas as the undead race heroes even though they’re mostly not the “forsaken” undead. There’s just too much necro-overlap if you try to throw Forsaken on top of all that, especially when you consider that we may one day see Teron Gorefiend, Lana’thel, Darion Mograine, and Lillian Voss.

I love this, i need my Vol’jin in Hots

Being the only notable female in a race is a terrible reason to be included.

If we want more gender representation then it should start with WoW making those characters more notable, not making an actual nobody a hero just because you can’t think of someone better for a particular race/gender.

I wouldn’t exactly call Lady Liadrin, Moira, and Magatha Grimtotem “nobodies”. And I don’t really understand what you’re trying to imply. We should just not have females? Because we can’t wait around for a decade for WoW devs to just pull feminine lore our of their a**.
