I’ve got the “This play mode is currently disabled” error a year ago which made me stop playing because I couldn’t find a solution and i recently decided to reinstall it and the exact same error is back. I’ve relaunched the game, reinstalled, scan & repaired, and tried a suggestion to delete the Variable.txt file and reset in-game options.
This tends to end up being a connection issue. Would recommend making sure that none of the ports here are being blocked.
If you have the option, we can also look into testing with a different network. Maybe a mobile connection if you have a phone and data plan that supports tethering.
I’ve been playing the game for years now. I just got the same issue after finishing storm league game. Now all my game modes are disabled. Restarting game or bnet client does not solve this issue. I need help.
This can be all manner of connection issues, from port configuration problems to simple packet loss. Did you try on a different network like a mobile tether to see if it fixes itself? Have you power cycled your main network andswapped to an ethernet cable?
If you’re still having this problem, please create a WinMTR test which catches a connectivity issue like this. You want to restart the test every 10-15 minutes until you catch one of these problems. Once you’ve caught one red handed, run the test for about 5 more minutes. This will let us look for problems between your house and our servers which may cause this.
If you have problems with posting it due to a link error, go ahead and copy paste this into your next post, and replace “WinMTR goes here” with your test.
Overall the WinMTR results look fine though it looks like it was only ran for a few seconds. We’ll want to make sure to run that for around 10 minutes. Have you gone through any of the troubleshooting previously mentioned in the thread? If so, which steps have you gone through?
I’m having the same issue. I was playing normally, closed the game, and one hour later, “This play mode is currently disabled”.
I did the scan and repair, it downloaded a few mb, and after that the profile pictures, quest, and else, didn’t appeared at all.
I’m having the same issue, i’ve disabled the firewall but still recieving “this play mode is currently disabled” message. I’m trying to connect to Brazil server btw
EDIT: i’ve changed the DNS to google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) and now it’s working, should be a Fibertel (Argentina ISP provider) DNS issue
I had the same problem. Did this and and it worked. Not sure what else could be affected by this.

It looks like you are using Cablevision which is having problems but you are also having issues involving the Milano backbone. This is a separate problem being investigated. Keep an eye on the threads here and here.
