Teach me Illiadin

So I like playing with Illiadin but I’m doing something wrong, usually I’m top DPS if I play a assassin and even sometimes playing as a Tank. but I struggle to do proper DPS with Illiadin. I do same dps as the tanks and it really annoy me. I do get plenty kills and stay alive quite well with him but my Hero pvp damage is not pretty.

please teach me.
thanks

You take unending hatred on first talent? the one tht increases ur attack damage by killing minions?

tht can b one reason,

taking tht swipe bonus increase from 35% to 125% is the key, specially in team fights, u go between 2 heroes, n u doing 125% damage n also healing more,

later, u can take tht swiping quest, it gives u 2 swipes with a verry short cooldown, will boost ur damage.

also dont take HUNT unless there is some squishy troublesome hero like li ming or chromie tht u need to kill. the other ulti wil boost damage much

but thts all just my opinions

Illiadin?

That is a combination of Iliada and Aladdin?
Or Illidan and Muradin?
Illidan and Anduin?

Also Meta is your escaping tool. Don’t use it for engaging.

I swear 90% of Illidans I see in QM who get caught and are doomed use it right on top of the enemies instead of just using it as an escape to buy distance.

This is sad. Can we hit 50 likes?:pensive:

In general, Illidan is a hero who can hardly make top dmg. His role in the team is: solo laner, jungler.
In TF, he should introduce enemies into chaos and disorientation.

The most important tip for Illidan:
Animation Q lasts longer than the basic attack, and deals less damage. So use it only when you really need to change your position.

Stutter step is also very important, because Illidan depends on his basic attacks

The style of the game you choose is also important. On the first level, all three talents are good, but each serves something different.

Illidan is the best machine for destroying the core. If you see a good opportunity - go core, even solo.

EDIT:
Tunnel vision - this is the most dangerous one that can happen to illidan. It’s easy to chase an enemy, lose yourself in battle, forget about the rest of the team. When you know that you jumped 1vs5 is too late. Good Illidan controls what’s going on around him. He jumps between enemies and after a while jumps out, he does it until he knows he can win.

Even if you want to focus on dealing damage and killing, try to destroy the enemy buildings in the early game - open the map, then the enemy will have no place to hide.

Okay, I refrained from playing Illidan this past week and checked out all the Illidan’s I play / against. and I don’t feel bad anymore, I did not see one Illidan doing more than 40K pvp hero dps… that’s where im about also.

Ilidan doesnt do a hell lot of damage like others.

When i used to play ilidan, i had somethings in mind, which i learned over the time

1= keep soaking too (get xp) I soak away specially if i hav HUNT to join team when i want,

2= Do camps (DONT use ur q, just W n autoattacks, using Q makes your overall per second damage LESS)

3= Engage using W (it gives u bonus life steal and attack damage (Not engage with Q n W to leave

4= Dont focus on your Hero Damage, Focus on your XP

5= Dive into team fight ONLY after it has started already and elapsed 2 seconds, get into middle, W between 2 or more and go crazy with autoattacking, use Q ONLY n ONLY to miss skillshots,

Using Q in the middle of AAs will LOWER your overall damage

Try doing a camp with Q n W n E ,
And do same camp with W n E ONLY , u can see the difference

Nice reply, thank you for this.

Gud Luck
and ili is a very strong hero when u learn to play him,

He sticks to squishy enemy like a magnet, till he gets the kills.

Pair ilidan with aba , the fun just magnifies intensely

A lot of good advice here, but I want to emphasize just how important it is that you attack with Illidan as much as possible. Your attack-move hotkey is crucial. Beyond that, you simply need to be faster than you opponent.

Many heroes can get away with pressing QWE, then tottering around waiting for cooldowns. Illidan is not one of them. But getting good with him is quite satisfying.
