The reason I’m saying this is because Blizzard needs good data to know if they need to buff or nerf DW. I played a lot of matches with DW already and in all of them there was at least 2-3 hard counters like Tychus, Leo, GM… Matches didn’t really go that well. Same goes for when there was a DW in the enemy team or another person was DW on my team.
If people only queue with really hard counters, Blizzard will think that DW sucks and they can even overbuff him, which could make him become broken.
Just be careful with who you queue with because it could affect future balance patches.
Well from personnal experience which amounts to nothing much it seems DW have the tendency to trample all ranged fiesta type of QM comps so i am unsure it would be quality data either way.
I think they can take the counter-heavy environment into consideration and it’s not like there isn’t two DWs in all game which also screws with the balance/data IF these things matter and actual hinderens for the devs.
i really doubt anyone will care about this honestly. they just want to win games that’s why they queue with his counters well to win “Easier” because you can win without picking his counters anyway “i’ve done it few times already” but yeah they want faster wins that way
me and my friends always pick heroes with giant killer to annoy DW players you always know hes most likely in the enemy team and we take malt, tychus, raynor etc
The few times i was able to pick him first so that enemy cant pick him i topped dmg EVERY fight.All wins.Take that as you will.And in most of those there were 2 counters minimum.
My friend and me even let enemy have a chance to pick him since they mostly dont want to first pick him to give us less chance to counter him then we second pick him.Never won vs him either.
He is bonkers strong. He aint even countered that much.Too much aoe dmg with lvl 4 aoe burn. I just use it and stick to their backline or healer. He can live quite long even with % dmg due to protection on 1. Then just ulti out of there and Z for some sec and get back in.
His weakness is nuking him the moment he lands since he is useless after his hp gets low. He needs often like 60sec to get back if he gets nuked like that.But in normal engages he is crazy strong.
Cassia only gets her range upgrade at 20, and Deathwing’s armor isn’t all that important. Valla is literally better in every respect in this situation, since she also gets a range increase at 20, but also gets a a %HP talent that is actually useful. (Comparatively, Deathwing is literally immune to Cassia’s.)
This is literally not a concern for anyone… Because it’s an imaginary issue.
Deathwing isn’t going to receive major buffs if he’s outperformed by his counters. It doesn’t happen. Else we’d see Murky and Vikings buffed because they’re countered by Butcher and Zera.
If anything, the issue with these all-in strategies are that they only-kinda-sorta counter one player. Greymane, Tychus, Malth and Leoric aren’t that strong as heroes, and the inexperienced %damage players underperform in relation to how they play with their mains.
The only %character who even really hard shuts down DW is Malth from the insane healing Malth gets, and DW’s team’s utter inability to stop Last Rites.
People assume that counters in 1v1 situations are the same as counters in team fights.
