I know! I was “stuck” in silver, because I belonged in silver. Imagine how fun it was for that GM, having been beaten by a 1600 MMR on stream. Most people think mmr/rank means skill, but he got trashed so hard, and now he had to defend this mmr/rank skill correlation with words simple people can understand. But there were none that could possibly explain it.
Of course, me going to Plat using nothing but copy-catting 10winsmax with Arthas meant I belonged in Diamond. Me having 72% winrate with Deckard last season in 72 games means I still belong in Diamond.
And it’s entirely impossible that somebody can hold a 50% winrate in multiple ranks.
And people don’t oversimplify.
You’re not really stuck in Bronze are you?

In Trueskill the uncertainty is not an MMR, it determines the amount of points you gain for winning losing. Higher uncertainty -> large changes in points. Given Hots mainly just changes rank by +/- 200 points for most players, they’re not really taking into account uncertainty after your first few games.
Sigh, this doesn’t bother me as much as it used to. I finally got my main account banned after 2 years of trying, and it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from my chest. Yeah, the game is flawed, but hey, that’s why the game failed. I don’t even play it more than maybe two or three games a week, and I sometimes go months without touching it.
But to all thee who still enjoy the game, no sarcasm, I’m glad you enjoy it. I wish I could, too.
