Feels like opening tumblr. Constant therapy speak (literally all the time it feels like), weird inappropriate comments (of a nature i don’t think i can discuss on the forums), never discussion about the actual game. Just bored people in their parents basement being creepy, grandstanding about moral ethics, and massively oversharing personal details about their life. Imagine coming to these forums as a new player, and that’s all you see.
I know you can ignore it, that’s not the point. I don’t think we should just allow this to continue to fester.

From the player’s perspective, there’s absolutely no advantage to shutting down the forums vs them just leaving.
Why not simply just leave? Addiction?

The forums are more stale than ever, but that doesn’t mean they cannot make a comeback, especially if there is a rework of the game in the works.. These forums used to be incredibly active and other blizz forums (like Wow) are still very active.
Game gets a rework, Blues start posting here again, Blizz junior devs stop posting on reddit and these forums will be active again.

I actually gave it a look, all the mega threads are like giga dead, the most at least seldom active is the GG thread and the salt mines v3 which was… 6 days ago and requires you to scroll.

No one is forcing you to read the forums. If it bothers you, then you need to work on it. Not shut the whole thing down, because of “feelings”
…well that escalated quickly. May I suggest taking a break from HotS/forums?
On topic, most of us here have run out of things to talk about and idea threads or just ideas in general usually get shutdown or abandoned after a while. There are fits and spurts of activity here when heroes are reworked, updated, or some new thingy is released, but most talking points have been exhausted by now.
That said, I strongly oppose shutting down any forum due to the information that can be found hidden away. Gearbox did that with their forums after it started going stagnant (coincidentally around the time Borderlands 3 launched) resulting in dozens of guides and hundreds upon hundreds of pages of information lost forever.
…the Unofficial Gearbox Discord is a ghost town and the Borderlands discord is…it’s really weird.
You did it, bouncy. I have to admit it, I couldn’t have pulled off such a feat. Simple, but it’s exactly this simplicity that makes it more remarkable. I applaud you.

A threat wasn’t posted, and people weren’t bribed to report a flagrant post that was a clear violation of forum conduct.
It used to be a ‘fun’ forum gimmick that people would derail a ‘dead topic’ with odd facts or media clips.
You’re effectively trolling yourself with the falsehoods you’re posting in trying to blame anyone else for you making yourself out to be a flagrant victim of your own deceptions, Bouncyboi.
As an anon, you may want to consider other outlets for dealing with neurodivergence as scapegoating isn’t a sustainable one.
