Should QM be removed from the game?

Hots itself isn’t popular. But lol and dota are. They’ve actually taken most of the shares in the moba market. But QM doesn’t exist in those two games. So I can say that for most moba players QM isn’t a popular mode. We have to ask moba players what they need not a minority of players who chose to stick with ai and QM.

Nope. When QM tries to find a match it takes much more restrictions than that. I’ll show it to you.

Team Composition

  • Players should be matched with and against players of the same Matchmaking Rating. Quick Match does have its own MMR, seperate from Unranked and Ranked.
  • Players should be matched with and against players of slightly lower skill when playing a Hero for the first time, and slightly higher skill when playing Heroes with which they have extensive experience. This results in a higher percentage of evenly-matched games, in which each team has a 45% - 55% probability of victory, and should encourages more players to try out a greater variety of Heroes in Quick Match games.
  • There is a reduced possibility that you’ll be matched against a party that has three more members than the largest party on your own team:
    • Solo players: A reduced possibility to be matched against four or five-player parties.
    • Duo players*: A reduced possibility to be be matched against five-player parties.
    • Three-player parties: Can match against any party size.
  • It is important to note that the matchmaker will still prioritize match quality over party size, and may pull in parties outside of these ranges if the resulting game is the most suitable match available. This means that it’s still possible to play against a party that’s larger than your own, but this will only occur in rare cases.

Hero Composition

  • Quick Match will prioritize creating teams with at least one Warrior, Support and Ranged Assassin, and enforce this rule for players queuing as parties of 3 or more as follows:
    • Parties of 3 must have at least one of the required Hero categories selected to queue.
    • Parties of 4 must have at least two of the required Hero categories selected to queue.
    • Parties of 5 are exempt from this rule.
  • Quick Match will prefer not to make mirror matches, the same hero on both teams, when other options are available.
  • When creating Quick Match games, Warriors are categorized as either Bruisers (like Sonya) or Tanks(like Stitches).
  • Supports are split into Healers and Sustain Heroes. Sustain Heroes are Medivh, Zarya, Tassadar, Tyrande and Abathur as heroes that provide “sustain” to a team, without being a typical solo-support. These roles will be mirrored in games where they are the only “sustain” Heroes, but can also be placed onto teams with healers.
  • Quick Match prefers to match a zero support team against another zero support team.
  • Quick Match prefers to match a zero warrior team against another zero warrior team.
  • Quick Match prefers to limit the number of certain roles:
    • No more than 3 Warriors.
    • No more than 4 Assassins.
    • No more than 2 Support.
    • No more than 2 Specialists.
    • No more than 3 Melee heroes.
  • The number of stealth characters you can have on a team should be limited to 1. This includes Nova, Samuro, Valeera, and Zeratul.
  • It is very unlikely that you will encounter more than one of the following heroes (with unique roles, or have limited lane presence) on the same Quick Match team: Abathur, Cho’gall, Lt. Morales, Murky, Nova, The Lost Vikings.
  • Note: Parties can still bend those rules! This means that you may still see heroes like Abathur and Cho’gall on the same team if those players entered the queue as a party.
    • If you are matched against a team that has two of the above heroes in their composition, such as Abathur and Murky, your team may also receive two of the listed heroes.

Draft only needs team composition rules. QM needs a lot more rules thanks to hero composition rules.

Cause draft is almost dead and has a restriction which stops many players who wants to try out draft.(Which many are pointing out that it is a huge problem for a moba game.)

There’s no hope of hots gaining popularity if they stick with QM(already wrote various reasons about it on previous comments.). Removing QM might kill the game. But that also means that there wasn’t a hope for hots. If I were the devs I’d rather try it instead keep wasting money on a dying game which has no hope of getting up.

No new player waits that long for a match. Would you wait for that long for a match in a game which you just tried?(Waited 1400secs in NA, QM still couldn’t find a match.) Not demonstrate any relationships? Do I have to? Because anybody can know that a newbie would never wait that long for a match if they do at least a little bit of thinking.

Nope it does not help at all. But those kinds of idiots are supposed to be punished by devs banning them from the game(in which they aren’t.), not by making a mode which goes against the very rules of a moba game. Besides, there are many who chooses to be cooperative because they know it is the most important thing to do in a team game.(I know this because I’ve played a lot of ranked games in overwatch. HL is impossible to enjoy cause it always fails to find a match.) And I’ve also seen many players who are very uncooperative and does insults to other teammates in QM, too. QM never succeeded in lessening up the toxicity.

Waited 3 years for a fix and is it getting anywhere? Most played game mode in the game, yes. But is that game a successful game which succeeded in gaining a lot of players. No. Wonder why?
