Imagine, being able to train against the best players in the world and vastly improving–and everyone can do so! Gold rank would disappear.
This is one of the worst statemens I’ve ever seen in this forums, like, where I can even start? I’m just gonna say that gold league will ever excist no matter how good the training would be.
Pretty much this.
Gold league will still exist, the only thing that’ll change is the skill level IN gold league (and for all leagues for that matter) with bronze containing the highest variation.
You failed the moment you assumed people want to look in the mirror and improve.
We see it often in sci-fi. typically the bad guy training with synthetic opponents. One day it will be a reality.
It would shrink in size? Those who want to get good will have an insult free way to train and try new things.
I have a friend that is really handicapped after he smokes a little bit of weed but then he starts playing HOTS. It’s like training under hard conditions - like doing pushups in a forcefield with increased pressure like DragonballZ.
So my friend hopes he will be insanely good when he plays sober xD
Better give him some DeepMind AI for this…
Why would it shrink? It wouldn’t. Ranks are somewhat percentage based, so Master+ will always be around 5% of the playerbase. Because otherwise they’re meaningless. Like (exaggeration) 60% of the players are diamond+. Wow… so meaningful…
The community would get better, but Gold would stay the same in size, it’s just Gold would get better.
(Sidenote: my mind always wants to read Deathwing instead of Deepminds, lol.)
But don’t you want better players?
Sorry to say, but this. There are people on the hots subreddit complaining about Elite AI being too difficult every now and then.
And these players supposedly played the game for 3, 4+ years and are level 1000, 1500, 2000+.
Dude, the AI barely functions anymore. Most often I’ll chase them to a structure where they arrive at a full stop and do nothing.
And people find that too tough??.. Oh, dear.
I’m here to let you know, that it’s often a brutal experience, and it’s incredibly demoralizing to lose against the AI. Especially when it’s your fault.
Just using this as an example. By no means am I trying to insult the creator, he is simply trying to educate people who get defeated by the highest AI setting and make such posts.
you are right, my bad ![]()
I mean some of them are pretty mean still in AI, like Ana. I also find Falstad to be brutal at times.
True, some of the elite bots aren’t brainless. A few of them have been programmed really well, like Falstad and Genji. ETC’s AI is generally fairly good and manageable, if your teammate disconnects he will pull his weight to an extent.
- I’m not against your idea (nor do I support it tho).
- I don’t think this will improve the playerbase.
Aside from the training part.
I do think having DeepMind in VS AI would be pretty cool.
Currently the AI is too predictable even on Elite. I mean they still play better then some QM comps but the added complexity would be nice.
