Dropped so low in comp that I’ve stopped losing points. lol
Bronze 5 is like GM, no one knows who’s the best, at being worst.
Remember - soaking is a cheating mechanic.
Sincerely, this isn’t a terrible way to look at the situation and I much prefer it to those who make threads to blame their team, or the matchmaker, for forcing them to be “stuck” in Bronze 5.
To offer a word of encouragement, I once fell to Silver 5 or something like that. I took a long look at my replays, and the statistics on my profile, and it was clear I performed better on Bruisers, Tanks, Supports and Healers, than I did with most assassins, (Samuro excluded).
I managed to rank up to Plat, with my focus on about 5 heroes, one of them being Stitches. This was before his rework and he was considered “bad”, but he was very good at punishing the bad positioning in Silver and Gold and could dish out damage and body block etc.
Luckily bronze isnt real, thus it cannot harm you.
Imaginary or theoretical?
I’ll NEVER understand how some players find it difficult to escape Bronze. As long as you’re at LEAST a decent player…you’re going to be Silver. You may not be Good enough to be Gold but, you’re NEVER gonna be Bronze! lol.
But this is coming from a guy that regulary Hits ‘Gold’ right out of placement. As in, i’ll have no rank, just in “placement”. Then after i play a few matches, the system ranks me straight into Gold status. Where i remain, perpertually. lol.
So perhaps it’s my bad, and i just don’t “Get” the plight of a Bronze player.
I think I need a bit more clarification on what sort of thread this is. Is this a about how to improve, how to get out of bronze or, which I think would be mighty cool, finding out how deep the rabbit hole goes?
I am a vs A.I scrub that has not placed in the entirety of the eight years I have played. You can’t get worse than me. I am the Thanos of the worst. If I were to go into ranked it would be like having all five stones while snapping my fingers as I would slash everyone’s mmr in half.
What do you need help with? Are you able to submit a replay for people to watch and give constructive criticism?
What characters/roles do you play?
You probably win against the AI sometimes.
Welp, I did watch a few replays. I think OP is more suited to playing bruisers than tanks from a mindset perspective.
How do you watch replays of players without their consent? Lol
I imagine they used Heroes Profile, if the OP or someone else uploaded their matches, the replays would be there.
some replays can be downloaded from Heroesprofile and then set into your own replay folder.
I’m not sure why some allow downloads and others don’t. When viewing a specific match details, there will be a ‘download’ button in the upper right hand corner; it simply isn’t there if downloads aren’t allowed, so you wouldn’t know it could be there till you see it.
Some of the matches in my “latest” tab I can’t download, but I also didn’t upload them, so perhaps its an option when uploading or when using the auto-uploaders to allow downloads of the replay
I did indeed use HeroesProfile. Pretty easy as there was only one person with that username. Not so easy if you’re looking into Player or DeadlyPants.
NGL I don’t know how to feel about people watching my garbage gameplay without me knowing it but it is convenient that someone can just visit a profile and view a game.
I’ve tried bruisers before but they just don’t have the survivability. I sometimes lose track of my hero within chaotic situations and need to reorient myself with an escape ability or pressing space. When I do that on a bruiser I tend to be dead more times than not. =\
As an aside, I did enjoy playing Junkrat the one time I got him in ARAM.
Apologies, I suppose it might not have been obvious one could do that. Usually I treat topics such as this as an implied consent to browse through a few matches. Sorry if that made you feel your privacy was intruded upon.
Of course it’s up to you what character you play, but I think your playstyle was more bruiser than tank-like, and it’s not like survivability is too big of a deal as many have disengages and Yrel, for example, is ridiculously hard to kill. You don’t the same HP pool as tanks but you often have better damage, wave clear and mercing.
That being said, playing tanks is totally fine and it’s not a role many want to play, but you need to be aware it’s the second most difficult role in the game. Your role is primarily to give vision, set up engages and peel for your team so you need to pay a lot of attention to everyone’s position.
I’m not actually that miffed about it. No need to apologise. I would have probably posted a replay at some point anyway if for nothing else than for people to laugh at.
I really appreciate your feedback. I, honestly, thought that a tanks main role was jungle and boss control in addition to soaking damage while contributing to lane control/pressure.
Well, I’m not a very good tank player myself so I can’t offer too much insight what a tank should and shouldn’t be doing. My personal opinion is that above all tanks are there to facilitate their team. And it’s a beautiful thing when it works.
Some years ago I was playing Valla, we had this Diablo who was so good that I could basically just follow him and steamroll everything without anyone getting to me.
On the occasion you also see some ridiculous Muradins who somehow manage to find the perfect moment to come out of nowhere, haymaker you into their team and walk away.
Tanks play different, but I think someone (probably here) said that you help to get a kill there and prevent a team mate getting ganked there. It’s not all about getting 4-man moshes everytime. The little things add up.
