No sound in game, worked fine after the install for a game or two. Closed game and came back later to find that I no longer had sound even though nothing had changed and I was still getting sound from everything else on PC.

This often happens when the game is muted in Windows. Have you checked the sound mixer while the game is running? You can do that by right-clicking the volume icon in the Windows system tray.
