context: previous meta madness tournaments were by invitation only, this one is opened up to the ‘public’ so the first set of games are a round-robin style of each team playing other teams before the bracket phase. There are 4 groups of 4 teams; the top two of each group advances. So 16 teams to start that’ll get cut down to 8 based on points earned.
A scheduled team didn’t match the match, so a heroes lounge team filled in at the last moment.
The series is a good mark on why META madness is so enjoyable: good offmeta picks, and not just same game, but different faces.
and another change compared to previous tournaments. The first map in a series gets picked by the organisers. In this case it’s BHB

Might want to mention that Meta Madness has a pre-selected pool of banned heroes, and heroes banned during draft cannot be played for the rest of the games.
