Nerf Tassadar lvl 20 talent

It should be 1 second or 0.5 second added every basic attack, not freakin 2 seconds. Did the devs never think that Archon would become permanent in some setups with that 2 seconds increased duration per basic attack?

Reduce the duration given so that he has to land literally every basic attack or lose the chance to maintain the ult. Just ridiculous.

That’s the whole point.

It was one of his few talents that didn’t change, though?

And he does totally drop archon if you focus him. Knock him back and peel away and watch him flounder… remember he has to talent into Shift and it isn’t invuln anymore. He’s much easier to focus as he doesn’t have an emergency button anymore.

Alternatively, be Muradin. Be Muradin and laugh at a phase heavy damage relying on AAs, with stuns, slows and aspd reduction.

Remember that now Tass doesn’t have his mobility on E, so transitioning between lanes can be rough and you might lose Archon. Also remember that the abilitiy goes on full CD if Archon is dropped.

It is also a level 20 ability, so it is meant to be good and “get this to end the game”. Look at many other level 20s in the game and you’ll see that this isn’t even one of the best out there.

I had a match on cursed hollow, he activated Archon during the last tribute and maintained it all the way till he got to our core and finished with it still active.
It’s just abit too rewarding, his kit is carrying him, not himself cuz he played horribly up until he got that lvl 20 talent.

I was gonna comment on this, was it like that for Old Tass? I can’t remember.

Compared for example to Sonya’s Berserk right on lvl10, extends 1 second per 10 fury, but CD starts upon activation. It’s just possible to be on Berserk and have it ready again (or almost) when it ends, as long as there’s anything to hit.

It used to work like Sonya’s Wrath, but then it was just too powerful and they made it go in full cd after you lose Archon.

That’s fine. Level 20 talent that made him finish the game. That’s what level 20 talents are for. All of them are supposed to be good and help with ending the game.

Infinite Archon definitely didn’t won the fight alone 1 v 5. Losing a fight at level 20 is usually the end no matter what talent you have, especially with obj.

I get what you mean, but again you’re talking in a general sense for something that’s in the context of Tassadar alone.
Valla → increased range at 20,
Raynor → Increased attack speed at 20
Jaina → RoF blows up in middle
Tassadar → Permanent ult, Permanent shield + Shield recovery.
What does Archon do?

-40% shield
-Fully charged Resonance
-R-beam does increased damage and splashes
-Autoattack does as much as a Ranged AA
-Resonance gives shield generation
-Heroes hit have their spell armor reduced

lvl 20 talent → all the above permanent.
So in some other sense you could say that lvl 20 talent is the above while other heroes have a single attribute boost.
He becomes a strong ranged AA at the same time as he is a strong mage at the SAME time as he has shield and regenerates shield at the SAME time as everything said is permanent.

You have to kill him on the first attempt, if you fail to do so he will be back in the game stronger than before you attempted to kill him because now… you’ll be at low hp and on cd’s and he will be back on full shield and HP with the healer as if nothing happened while still in Archon form.

I wonder why did nobody complain about previous version of endless Archon, who had 60 seconds max time duration with 2 mobile abilities (E/talented Q)? Current Tassadar has no baseline mobile abilities and max time of Archon is 12 seconds now.

Amazing.

Pros and high level players always said you just needed to get to level 20 with a Tass comp and then win the game because of infinite Archon.

Casuals were always like “ARCHON SUCKS”.

Now with nerfed Archon casuals are like “ARCHON TOO STRONK”.

Go figure :man_shrugging:

God I have no reason to pick TLA at 20, because:

  • no mobility, no mount during duration
  • no shield regeneration
  • 12 seconds max duration instead 60

Baseline 12 seconds duration of ult are enough for me.

Khala’s Gift has a higher winrate.

Turns out a team wide percentage bonus to spell power is pretty good.

You cannot mount and the shield does not recharge. Once you get out of a teamfight, you are restricted in your movement and cannot follow your team for a rush (no mount).

I usually pick wall cd reduction for more plays. I only really pick TLA if we are like sieging and about to make a big push to end the game or something.

What? In what sense does ‘previous’ Archon even entertain the idea of being anywhere near as boosting, buffing or whatever as the current one?
Im gonna disregard that statement wholesomely, unless you can clearify.

I personally say that it sucks but not because it suck persay, but because i think it’s too overtuned. I say something sucks when i feel that something is lacking a competitive path. And i always love to use Kael’Thas as the perfect example of a hero that sucks in that sense. Considering to add Tassadar right next to him but im writing here to read different view points.

I had a match where he didn’t even need to mount, or have mobility. Just simply stutter stepping between autoattacks to both increased the Archon duration AND generated shield, and he AA’d stuff along the way from the tribute all the way to the core and at the end screen Tassadar was still in that very same Archon form he activated minutes ago. Tassadar Generates shield, it doesn’t say under Archon that “You get ult but no longer generate shield”. He get’s it throu his trait which i mentioned.

On a side note, why would you need “mobility” OR “mount” for the same reason if you don’t even need it during the team fight. So if you don’t need any of it to utilize the full potential of the Archon there’s no need to try to belittle my point by saying stuff like that… The need for Mobility and Mounting are situational and does not impact the team-fight if it’s not needed and i’d say there are as many situation where you don’t need it as you do.

The crux of my argument is that he can maintain the Archon during the entire team fight and generate shield the same, making him a powerhouse unlike many if not most heroes.
(a reply for the “lvl 20 talent are ment to win the match” argument)

He gets shield from 4 lvl talent, called Plasma Shield. He doesn’t have shield regeneration as baseline.
Archon gives you 40% shield from max HP, what you can’t regenerate or get back at all during Acrhon, only if you use ult again.

Old Archon was stronger and more dangerous because you had more tools for that. Here’s why:

  • Tassadar was able to get new shield by Q every 8 seconds with duration 4 seconds
  • Tassadar got second escape from activating ult (Dimensional Shift)
  • Max duration was 60 seconds (now 12)
  • Tassadar had slow from his AA so he could AA someone and don’t let him run away (and it was easier to continue your ult by AAing heroes)
  • Tassadar could sustain by shields during Archon by AAs because lifesteal
  • Tassadar was able to be tankier by Plasma Shield (he could make it better by PS quest at 1 lvl (+30% value) and take Armor (Khala’s Light - 20 armor after shield ends or breaks at 4) or more sustainable (by Khala’s Embrace at 4 - 75% lifesteal from AA (baseline was 40%)) or more mobile (by Khala’s Celerity - 20% movespeed during PS duration)

That’s the talent with the highest popularity, winrate and games played. The movement speed one is a mobility talent which gets picked least, and the wall talent seems to be picked in combination with Black Hole. I’d say that talent is the “go to” for the Archon. Which in that sense you could still say it’s a genrator. Cuz during Archon the resonance is fully charged.

You get shield (15% from max HP) from this talent, but you still can’t regenerate 40% shield back after losing it as long as you are Archon.

It is the most picked talent, but all of them have basically the same winrate, and the winrates are pretty close to 50%, which means this tier is actually really balanced.

Even though it is the most picked talent at that tier, it is picked only 50% of the time, so it isn’t really a problem.

(this is all true both for SL in general and dia+)

Given how powerful Blackhole is, it kind of makes sense. Archon is an option for Tassadar to pickup some mobility and usually relies on Psionic Storm spam.
