Need more tanks

Theres currently 12 tanks and 16 healers. Tanks are pretty heavily banned too so i wouldn’t mind seeing a tank as the next hero.

Who would you want to see as a tank?

My vote would be for Reinhardt or Cairne…

Mannoroth (Pit Lord) could be an interesting tank option.

Need more supports, there is even less than tanks.

On topic, Reinhardt sounds like he would bring an interesting mechanic at least.

Reinhardt or Winston would be my top choices for a new tank.

They’d both bring something new to the game with how their barriers work. And its been ages since we got a new overwatch hero.

I agree, and I mean a blunt tank. Someone like a Mura, Jo or dibbles archetype. High HP, low or decent damage if specced into, but one that deters or slows AA’s and can withstand being bursted from mages, while being opened to HP based attack. They can provide peels and have a little escape for themselves.

How about Deathwing? Guy has armor over his dragon scales. Double armored! I’m sure he’d be a tank character.

I agree with an overwatch tank. He can have a shield mechanic, a protection skills, ability to fly, mass damage, reflect spells, pick up your sister, own a yacht and invest in real estate.

Having the destructor be a tank would ensure a cataclysm. Some people still are not over garrosh being a tank.

Some people complained about Alex being a healer …

I vote for:

  • Cairne (we still mis Tauren Chieftain from WC3)
  • Mannoroth (also we miss Pit Lord from WC3)
  • Reinhardt
  • D2 Bear form druid
  • Baal
  • Duriel

Yea we could use more supports, but those are a situational pick. Tanks are mandatory for any team comp, 12 isn’t enough for a role this important to the game.

I think he would make a great Tank, however with a little more bruiser baked into him compared to most tanks. Make him more like an Arthas than a Garrosh, he’s a tank, but he’s capable of clearing lanes and bullying on his own if he needs to, compared to Garrosh who literally cannot do ANYTHING alone.

We have 13 “roled” tanks (Those that are considered as tanks by the queue system), and another roughly 5 off-role tanks (Those that were considered as capable of tanking by the community before role reassignment to bruiser)

Another OW hero would make this game more horrible for low tier players.

he doesnt fit to the game omg
why ppl dont get this
alexstrasza has biggest possible model they could make
and her model is way bigger than her hit box

I just wanna hear the loud laughter of Reinhardt as he wades into the fray.

Be nice to see a mechanic where he’s slow but protective, maybe a small armor bonus, can throw up a large protective shield… then (maybe attached to his charge?) just surge forward and start swinging.

Plus, wasn’t he imagining a buncha things in one of the webcomics? I think he’d fit in quite nicely here.

People used that exact argument against Ridley in Smash. Wanna know what the answer was? They made his model smaller. Characters don’t have to be exactly the size they appear in their original game. In HotS Murky is only a third the size of Ragnaros, yet naturally, Murky would be the size of Ragnaros’ finger. They can just make Deathwing in human form, and make his dragon form just be as big as Alexstrasza, it doesn’t matter too much in the grand scheme of things. Hell if they wanted to make him dragon form for the entirety of the game, I would be fine with that, they tested it with Alexstrasza’s dragon queen form and I think it would be okay if they made a character that is consistently that big for an entire match.
