Have followed everything I could find to the letter. Mic is recognized by the test button but is marked out with a slash when I try to use it in party chat, have rechecked files twice. gone to properties ect. nothing fixes it.
Hey, ShadowWalker! This permanent muted mic is often caused by a connection issue like ports causing issues with the Microphone from working. An easy way to test if there is a connection issue is to try another connection like a mobile hotspot/tethering to see if voice chat works.
If you do try another connection and it works, try opening the router/modem ports. This is different from the Windows Firewall and may vary depending on the router model. Portforward.com has a great list and guides to help with adjusting these ports for the router/modem.
If another connection does not work or it wasn’t able to be tried, let’s gather a DxDiag file to check on a few things. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:
