I encountered an obvious map hacker. I sent the replay to hacks@blizzard [dot] com with the details.
Is anyone looking at those? I sent replays there before but no one responded.
Is there anything else I can do to keep the community free of map hackers? (i reported in game, of course)
I ve experienced the samething, i know maphackers is increasing since the game is on maintenance mode unfortunately but people would call us paranoid so it s a lost battle against blind people
Nah it’s not paranoia, it has been a constant cat and mouse chase for 10+ years. You can’t cheat in HotS in the classical sense (modifying HP, mana etc) but you can remove the fog of war.
Blizzard removes one type of map hack and another pops up in a few months.
Sometimes because the hack is designed for Starcraft 2 and it accidentally also works in HotS as a simple dll injection because they share the same game engine.
Report it to the email you mentioned, they can get advanced diagnostics from the players log files and make changes to the client that kills that particular hack.

There are map hackers but they seem rare in general.
I see far more often bots (softwares) than map hackers. Some bots are so well configured that you barelly see the difference between them and simply a terrible player, some are even configured to do some pings on other teammates (after dying) and they can even write one or two sentences in the chat during the game.
I’m sorry but i’m reporting for years people i know they are botting and they are still active today. I think nothing works on that game except reporting people for insults or pings. That’s the sad reality, but at least you did your best by sending them the replay, but i doubt he will ever be punished for that.
I should maybe use the address you have linked next time but i doubt some staff member will pay attention and to be honest they would have to look at several replays to see the redundance in their patterns and i doubt anyone at blizzard will do that.
