Li-Ming's Power Hungry talent is a Trap Talent

(Everyone who knows the power of Aether walker is now a god)

POWER HUNGRY IS A TRAP TALENTT! STOP CHOOSING ITT!!

Aether Walker is the best talent for Li-ming at level 1 especially if you really want to go with that teleport build.

Power hungry gives you 100% more mana and gives 10% spell power 20 seconds.
Tho it does give you more mana and damage. In maps like BoE, Black heart, Haunted mines (under the mines), Hanamura and some maps don’t really have that much regen globes spawning everywhere. So if u did lack collecting globes, it’s like you never chose a level 1 talent in the first place.
Also that 10% spell power is wasted if fights are near minions or objectives like Infernal shrine when most of your shots could be blocked.

Regen globes give 7% of your mana back. Ming has a 500 mana max at the start. 7% of that is 35. With power hungry you then get 65 of your mana back. 2 Ming abilities would really deplete that 65 in just a sec, not to mention that the time the mana replenishes ticks, so you wont be able to use an ability immediately after you took a globe when your mana is depleted.
Though mana scales every level. You just turn into a late game hero with that talent.

Most of the time if you ran out of mana, you have to go to a minion wave, kill its mage to get a globe.
But really in team fights when u do that, you have to go away to a fight and by the time you comeback, chances are, your team is prolly dead.
Also not to mention, do you really auto attack a mage minion to get a globe? I mean, you can, but you still have to use like magic missiles or 1 orb to kill it fast enough to get back in a fight.
So that extra mana would feel like nothing cause u used it just to get a globe.

Li-ming is possibly the only mage to have extreme mobility, not a lot of mages can zip through the map like she does. Also mages are very fragile so you really need that survivability in fights.

Why Aether Walker is her best level 1

  1. Saves mana

Li-mings Q is 20 mana, her teleport is 30 mana.
With Aether walker, you get 2 Qs in one fight more cause the teleport would cost no mana.

  1. Positioning and Survivability

Teleport as many times to position yourself better in short cool downs before firing orbs from surprise angles
can also position yourself in maps where objectives can’t block your shots.
You also dodge skill shots more frequently

has better chances of escaping enemies that chase you

  1. Speed

Travel across the map with mount speed (faster with illusionist)
Those 4 seconds or 3 seconds (I think) of you waiting for that mount cooldown on Z plus that mounting channel will never be needed.

Paired with other talents:

*Set up Cannoneer stacks for free
*Deal back to back Calamity damage every 3 seconds instead of waiting for that ability cool down that has a 5 second cool down when you don’t pick aether. you literally have a mana free damaging ability
*Constant Diamond Skin vs surprise burst. Also diamond skin stops poision damage from killing you

Be a better Genji
Aether walker + Domination + Calamity + Illusionist + Diamond skin.
those pesky squish or enemies trying to escape you with that itsy bitsy tiny health won’t be able to escape. even when they go in their gates. Just teleport inside the gate, get the kill with calamity/Illusionist n get out without a scratch cause of diamond skin and Domination. And you kill that hero with costing no mana cause of Aether walker’s mana free powers.

Be a semi better Tracer
With Aether walker
You are Tracer if Tracer’s teleport only had 1 charge, but with only a 3 second cooldown.
With how annoying Tracer can be with dodging every attack, Ming can do it too.

With them buffing Aether Walker with the latest patch, just makes her more hard to kill when she is chased. Just have to wait 3 seconds without getting damage then you’re a Tracer again.

My Calamity Build with Ming which I call Li-Ming shoes since it makes you a mobile mage.

Aether Walker > Dominance > Calamity > Wave of Force > Illusionist > Diamond Skin > Repulsion

NEVER EVER take disintegrate with Calamity build. It beats the whole mobility with Li-ming cause u have to channel that ability. Plus ur an easy target from divers.
WoF gives you self peel.

Aether Walker also pairs well with
Orb Build for positioning.
Q Build for positioning and that free cannoneer stack.

Aether walkers passive’s only weakness is getting dmg. With your mobility its easy to dodge damage anyways.
Plus you don’t have to rely on picking up stuff for it to be available so you’re in fights more.

Hint:
Aether Walker passive is active if you see her the magic ball that Ming has floating in her had glowing also there is this magic sound effect that tells you also if it’s active.
If you get damage, wait for it to glow or wait for the sound effect to know that it is again active.
Oh and also her the ability Icon on the bottom also glows if passive is active.

No one dare TLDR me! lol
I’ve explained it now, feel free to go snap my neck when you find anything wrong with my explanation. Ty <3

I’m also not the best with her, but she is my highest level hero above 100, so I kinda know her.

That theory doesn’t stand up to scrutiny because you can only avoid 100% of enemy damage in bot games. In real team fights you can’t just “ignore all damage for 3 seconds” unless you’re not in the fight at all.

Also since you have 40% on Ming in ranked and 49% on QM at 1900 MMR these builds or advice have no credibility.

Yeah… Like 10% bonus on all damage and mana regen is totally a trap talent when compared to a talent which only does something when you don’t take damage in last 4 seconds.

I think Master and Diamond leagues, where Aether Walker has 3% pickrate and Power Hungry has 80%+ proves otherwise.

But please, feel free to explain to me how all the top ranked people are wrong and you are right.

Nice try developer on your alt account!

Personally I choose the talent which makes the next ability hit taken to be reduced by 50%, after hitting an enemy player with missiles. Far more superior in teamfights where you often face melee that targets you, than other options at that tier.

The Power Hungry talent only lasts for 20 seconds, making it pretty bad on some maps where there are few regeneration globes.

Because he spammed her in QM until he got her to level 100

Oh hi babe. Sorry I didn’t mention that I rarely play ranked that much.
Anyways, thanks for looking at my hots logs. I also checked yours, and u have a 16.7 win rate on li-ming.
I don’t know if it’s yours tho, but if I’m wrong, please do share what you have.

Now, how does my advice not have credibility?
And on fights you also can’t have regen globes scattered everytime while Aether Walker is ready at the start of a fight. If you guys lose the fight, and you get chased, it’s easy to escape with Aether Walker, and if u did get damaged by something and can limp a little bit more, the teleport would suddenly be open even if u have no mana. (Now it’s mana free) So you can escape anything.

Try doing that with power hungry.
Not only do you have to start a fight with first trying to look for a globe, (Lucky enough if it were to start on a lane where globes have a possibilty of appearing) but when that fight lasts too long, you got no more passive and has to look for another globe.
And when the fight turns left, escape is just bad with that talent.

Also checked aether walkers picks on hots logs. It was low, but winrate is kinda up there with ya boi power hungry.

This is for @Lastai

I never said they were wrong, only reason aether walker isn’t a high pick, is because when people read the description they like what power hungry’s description more.

That’s why I explained why Aether Walker needs love on this post.

I said that Power Hungry was a trap talent, not a wrong choice.

If you were trapped, there are still ways to get out. A wrong choice is a wrong choice. So…
