Kerrigan Painful Spikes not proccing on boss or with ultra

“Enemies hit by Impaling Blades take an additional 70 damage the next 6 times Kerrigan damages them within 5 seconds.”

this is still not working at all vs bosses, whether they are neutral (not yet capped) or running down a lane. I see no reason this should be the case, as painful spikes is proccable vs everything else AFAIK whether its regular merc camps, enemy structures, minions, enemy heroes, enemy summons or whatnot. There is literally no other thing in the game that deals damage to all of the above yet is unable to damage bosses specifically, so this must be a bug.

Also, ultralisk cannot proc painful spikes whatsoever, not with its autos, not with its cleave/splash, which you can say “oOoHh tecknicully UltRa is not kErrigaN” but surely at least the initial stun skillshot damage should count as an ability cast by kerrigan and proc it? Because it doesnt. Even if this is intended, changing it so ultra can proc painful spikes with every part of the ability would probably help the lvl 16 talent diversity…

The topic of painful spikes came up before, but it’s very likely to be working as intended.

The concern is how bosses and certain objectives like angels on BOE map tend to live for very long time, which in turn might allow Kerigan to stack her energy shield to unreasonable amounts.

Many things in the game lack consistency but once you think about it you realize how finely balanced and tuned certain interactions are.

A more simple argument is that it’s already the best talent in row by far and doesn’t necessarily need expanded functionality.

Bosses aren’t Enemies or even Mercenaries. They are Elite Mercenaries, a very distinct classification within HotS.

Plenty of abilities or actives can’t be used on Elites or do not do anything vs them.
