I still think QM is one of the major leading factors on why HOTS has suffered so much
QM is the most popular mode because you can play any hero you want and it is fast.
If you remove QM, these players will left the game for good. If you think that those QM players will play Draft Mode if there is no QM, then you are wrong because they play QM in the first place because they donât like drafting.
the main issue with this game is shared xp and a large part of the hero base is super specific in what they do, and their is no system to help generalize them (i.e. items).
QM makes 0 sense in this game with how hyper specific heroes can be in what they do.
I would love to see this game with shared exp removed.
Having the ability to carry in the traditional sense in HOTS would be great.
QM Match maker is horrible, part of the problem being that there isnât enough players to tighten the restrictions without making the queue times go to 8, 9 even 10 minutes long.
no thanks, thats what makes this game different from other mobas. you shouldnât be able to sit in your own little world all game and carry the entire team. team effort.
Being different isnât doing this game any favors . HOTS isnât going to grow any time soon at this rate so people should get use to actual MOBA mechanics while they can.
Itâs hard to argue that change isnt required because we already have proof that what we have now isnât working.
As far as one person just stomping an entire teams goes. Your statement is pretty over exaggerated. For a person to 1v5 they have to
A) be better than the enemy team skill wise.
B) your team needs to ignore a growing threat
C) your team ends up feeding - and continues to ignore the map.
Itâs not as simple as one person just farming in a lane all day. A lot of the fault is actually on the enemy teams shoulders.
I thought VS AI was the most popular mode thesedays, huh.
I belong to the 20%
But yes this mode must deleted as fast as possible, but this will never happen because things
Your opinion, based on your expectations.
I donât know why you expect what you do.
Thatâs not a problem.
Thatâs even less of a problem.
There is no such thing. Iâve played TLV single lane.
If you micro them well, they can kind of beat a lot of heroes.
They end up feeling kind of like an assassin.
Ok but thatâs why we need diverse talent trees that let you shift your heroesâ strengths.
Itâs a PROBLEM that really hard counters exist, not something desirable that makes drafting fun.
See above. Hard counters are just bad game design.
Not true at all.
Not true at all, and I donât think itâs a âclown modeâ
I think you just need to be better at adapting.
The only real issue you bring up is that hard counters are bad game design.
That has nothing to do with QM, or draft.
But if theyâre going to remove a game mode, let them consolidate HL, TL, and URD into ONE mode. Because while QM is a different game mode, all 3 of those are exactly the same. Thereâs absolutely no reason to divide the community up like that. URD was the stupidest mistake ever. They could have just had a checkbox that said âhide my rankâ
They could have given players a different rank for each hero so they wouldnât feel bad playing their unpracticed heroes.
I think thatâs one of the worst things about the other MOBAs.
With the ability to carry comes basically the NEED to super power and protect your âcarryâ
Which means supports donât get to have fun, no one else gets to get kills. Itâs just a disaster.
But I bet it feels good for the one guy every else is⌠I wonât finish that.
The real problems with the game are Heroics being so all or nothing, burst damage being too high so there isnât as much back and forth, hard counters which âforceâ specific hero bans and limit variability, and talents that arenât impactful enough in drastically changing how you play your hero so you can adapt to different situations.
if you are unhappy about qm and its blind picks on a map you dont know. there is unranked where you can draft play that. its in the game why are you playing a mode that your unhappy with when you can be playing a different game mode you are happy with? or if you still wana play qm how about getting into a group talk to people make some friends
Dota has no QM and last I heard dota is 10x more popular than HOTS.
You can make draft modes the default mode by removing bans so people can play whatever they want (and no pick order means they can do so if they pick first) and reduce drafting time so it is fast
@Fawxkitteh who said there is no such thing as heroes ending up on unplayable maps, lol you think every hero is equally viable on every map? Youâre one of those people who draft murky on braxis and tell your team ârelax, Iâm good at microâ arenât you rofl, stay ez
If you want to blame, blame Blizzard for not including Ranked/Draft mode during the Alpha. By the time they introduce the âproperâ Ranked/Draft, most of the HoTS players were already deeply integrated themselves with QM.
If DotA has QM as their only mode in their launch, you can bet that QM mode will be the popular mode too.
In other word, it too late for HoTS developers to remove QM at this point because the damage (or QM foundation had been strongly established) had been done here.
At this point, either you continue playing at Draft Mode or just go to play DoTA2. Leave QM alone.
Well, the game is certainly âdifferentâ enough to lose the MoBA races as it failed to gather enough playerbase or money to rival other MoBA games.
It takes 10 to 20 seconds to find a match with a hero they want to practice with.
That alone beats the 30 minute wait to be grouped up with failures who play ranked all day for years but still canât grasp basic drafting.
the only reason QM is the most popular mode is because they made ranked such a garbage mode.
HoTS just had bad leadership/design issues.
Hero league is most certainly a clown fiesta. Too many players who play heroes they are inexperienced with because they believe in their comps meta and donât actually exhibit any amount of skill or knowledge with that hero. Too many players focused on team fighting over macro strategy because they think "competitive game playâ is all about âcarryingâ the rest of the team rather than working with it.
While QM may suffer from it not being âserious businessâ, where most players are less worried about winning than they are about having fun with their hero of choice, Iâve found that these players are usually more skilled and have better knowledge of the game. This is a breath of fresh air after years of dealing with the clownfiesta that is Hero League.
I enjoy playing healers and tanks usually.
But in quickmatch? Lol⌠thatâs borderline masochistic
