Azmodan in the #1 spot. Obviously. Sgt.Hammer got banned because sometimes she has no counters. Azmodan almost never has counters and is consistently the top siege damage, top hero damage, top kills, fewest deaths, and MVP of most games. It is ludicrously high reward for equally low risk and isn’t fun at all to play against.
Mephisto. This one I’m not as confident saying since he does have some counters, but there are many times where 1, and sometimes even 2 Mephisto’s just obliterate the entire team with absurd amounts of damage, and then they blink away safely with no punishment. Consume Souls is also another unavoidable team nuke that you have to watch out for meaning you can be punished hard for simply trying to play the game. Not to mention how crushingly unfun it can be when there are no healers and you are always within range of a kill. The lvl 20 upgrade is the cherry on the cake.
Mediev. This choice I am on the fence about. In the hands of the average player, he’s one of the most garbage picks that can doom your team. In the hands of an expert, he’s one of the most busted heroes in the game with very little counterplay and a massive toolkit that just wins the game. As far as “funness” goes, he’s so polarizing either for his team or his opponent that I feel ARAM would be improved if he weren’t permitted in it.
But these are just my picks. I just started playing again after being away for 3 years so I don’t know how the meta has changed.
Azmodan - I think he can be stopped and have lost with and beaten before but is annoying to see
ZJ - Stacks to oblivion. Though I do love to play him so don’t really want to see him (or any) banned TBH
Art - Much the same as above but with side bulk as well, and if no team ends up with a tank he’ll dominate IMO.
Ok on to your picks.
Not sure about Mediev as I think the majority don’t find him to bad and with less rotations, unless you are coordinated dive team, I’m not sure portals are that op here.
Constant fighting and shields are good but not unbeatable IMO. But you are correct and him with a talented player more so than almost any other hero.
Mephisto is oppressive on paper especially when more than one but for some reason I’m never scared of them. So I’d be on the fence too.
Both agreed on Azmo
I wonder how long until it turns into a ASAM argument
Whenever i have azmodan with 2 other characters that i know how to play , i never pick azmo. Because its not fun for the enemy team. Just bombard them and play safe in the back line with a hp that is even higher than tanks. I think all other heroes are fine.
Azmodan, at least in Healer-less games. Too much value for a back laner with no risk and tank health.
Lucio, solely because he puts out way too much healing, and in this mode it’s just too easy to have all 4 people in range and have Lucio do well over 200k+ a match with just spamming Amp It Up. There’s no difference in healing between a bad lucio and a pro lucio because none of his healing is built into the parts of his kit that require skill.
Don’t think there’s really anyone else that upsets this mode but if I had to choose a third, it would probably be Morales solely because of how irritating she is. She can backline heal indefinitely with almost no risk and she has no mana, so there’s none of that mana tension drawback to playing her. Her displacement grenade spam is also beyond obnoxious on a one lane map and I’m tired of this being a thing she can sit and spam for free.
They could also just balance these outliers for ARAM (or in general) but that’s too much effort. Or they could just unban every hero and unban every banned talent (like Spite since they also nerfed that) and let it truly be a broken nonsense mode for keyboard droolers.
Dehaka- because it’s slow without bushes on that one map, the conveyor belts on that map only gives lymphoma, so you can’t use them.
Murky- Because he’s talking crap about Artanis
The Nexus logo- because someone once said this
They are telling us to git good in a long winded way. Nexus logo ain’t doing anything good for anyone get that trash outta aram! It’s like a inverted butcher, losing meat when it kills so it just have to sit at base.
but there’s no such thing because everyone allllllllways fills in the roles and deeeeeefinately don’t pick whatever and then stiiiiillll expect you to fill
Varian’s Taunt is one of the most broken abilities in the game. Varian is also just an excellent tank overall.
Varian’s Smash is also pretty broken. Pair it with a Lion’s Maw and you got a crazy burst that can 3 shot a squishy on your own no sweat. It’s downright oppressive.
Nazeebo. Infinite stacks. Ice Block. Ravenous Spirit. Basically any build gets the job done effortlessly.
I’m just going to post this here, instead of starting a new topic…
Stukov is easily the best hero in this game mode.
Azmodan #2
Everything else is fine. Chromie, li ming, Zarya, can all go on the honorable mention list. These heroes do more damage than any of the other assassin options and do it with a ton of range while somehow also not being super squishy. Azmodan just surpasses these few because he has even more range, even more damage, and even more of a health pool. He can stack to 400 in sub 10 minutes in some comps and its just an unbearable game to play when you know at any second you might be getting dunked for 40% of your health and very little way to counter it (assuming there are is any amount of cc and front line) - Of course if its 5 ranged v 5 ranged, then sure…you can just spread out and not let Azmo stack and dunk you non stop. That’s usually not the case. Azmodan is obviously broken in this mode…more so than the other ranged assassins mentioned.
Stukov, however, is still the best hero in the game mode. The growing lurking arm with instant resets at level 13 silence is absolutely game breaking. Heroes like Meph have had their quick cooldown abilities nerfed, but somehow Stukov has avoided it. If you’ve ever played a game with 1 or 2 front line slows, and one team has a Stukov where the other team doesn’t…it’s not even a close game. Stukov has excellent healing output while having the single most game changing ability in the mode on virtually no cooldown. It’s completely and totally broken and Stukov needs to either be banned in the mode or have his level 13 nerfed similar to Meph’s nerf.
God no. So tired of ppl showing up in QM being like “idk how to play this hero” when they queue in on a hero like Illidan or Maiev. Stop doing this, play AI to learn a new hero first.
I have seen it before with 4 stacks. Had one which had 4 friends with one of them being a newbie. The newbie lost us the game and thier only defence for his actions when I confronted them with it was I was a newbie myself once.
He was right about that but atleast I spend most of my newbie time trying to learn my hero in a riskfree enviroment aka training mode against AI. I did not join QM before I comforable enough and knew the basis about my hero. Not just join QM without learning the game first and then get mad that others point them out.
Friends that defend newbie friends that dont care about learning the game first is the worst.
Like if you’re going to play QM as a noob then play a hero with a low skill floor like Jaina or Raynor. Don’t come in on Medivh all “idk how to play this guy!”
ZuiJin, I dont even play this troll and yet I find myself destroying the enemy team with him, absurd damage.
Whitemaine, absurd amounts of healing and can get lots of stacks
Li Ming, I just hate her.
I would say Nazeebo but I rather have him banned in QM all together since he is played TOO much in there and I use him in aram out of spite of it’s players
1 Kael’Thas. I’ve never intentionally played this hero to get good at them, but sometimes I pick him in ARAM. I always get top siege and hero damage and I never even really join the fights.
2 Azmodan. Agreed. He win’s without any risks.
3 Varian. He was overpowered when he first came out, and though total dominance isn’t as guaranteed as before, he can still somehow single-handedly win the match.
