fools the blizzard name authenticator every time when i need to change it due to “people find this name offensive so change it”
You’re absolutely right, for I didn’t fathom having more than one hero above 50%. I’m also commenting on how terrible I am at the game, my only hope is probably to one-trick.
Well, I don’t know. It’s a deep question.
KDA and number of ranked games on a hero are generally more important than win rate. That being said, if you win rate is super low, you’re still doing something wrong even if you have the other two in a good place.
For example, my Yrel number of games played and KDA are super good, but I’m not strong enough with her in the late game to have a very good win rate (~40%) despite having excellent stats otherwise. With that in mind, I don’t consider myself that strong of a Yrel.
Really you need to look at all three, but win rate doesn’t matter that much until you have a lot of games played with the hero to even out any streaking that could be the result of other factors.
is funny because my butcher is around 59% wr with 4.0 kda in qm and unranked, but when i pick him, in rankeds everyone start to get nervous, they say “don’t pick butcher” they get negative from the beginning, some already say gg from minute 1, while the enemy team hard focus me, my allies totally ignore me, then they blame me because i die, then they are afraid of any teamfight, and in the end when we lose they say “report butcher” for throwing lol…
How do you get potatoes only in enemy team!?
Butcher is advantaged in Quick Match because the enemy doesn’t get to draft blinds or AA slows against him. He might even go against a team with no tank or no healer when he will rack up a ton of kills.
He is nowhere near as viable in Storm League especially as an early pick, which will be heavily shut down by blinders.
(Case in point, last 5 patches on Heroesprofile combined at all ranks and mmr ranges: Butcher dead-even 50% in SL, 53% in QM)
I know that feeling with my Nova. But I guess people just don’t like heroes, which are considered “bad” by good players and it doesn’t matter that this heroes are only bad for 1% of the players. Sure The Butcher is easily countered by blinds or poly (BW), but he can still win games, if the player behind knows how to play him, but such logical arguements doesn’t mean much for the majorityof players.
They only look on the empirical side: bad Butchers picks him first, they get countered and fail that concludes The Butcher is bad. ![]()
- once you play only 50+ winrate heroes you rank up.
- Matches become harder and due to 50% winrate rule some of your 50+ heroes become 50-. So you don’t pick them anymore.
- Go to step 1 (until you have last hero at 50+)
- Now you have only one hero left, maybe two with 50+ winrate. And you are at such high rank that you can’t keep up with other heroes. Also you didn’t practice them on the way up as they were 50-
exaggeration, but overall it leads to onetricking or very narrow pool
this is a bad story and it doesn’t work out. I have 200 games with rehgar and have maintained a 63% even as I ranked and deranked. I also have a 60 percent winrate with ana, 60 percent winrate with uther, 60 percent winrate with arthas, and a sad 55% win-rate with thrall. All with over 30 games played. Its not about one-tricking, its just about sticking with the select few roles that youre good at.
- i mentioned narrow pool, not necessary 100% onetrick.
- you deranked with 63% winrate reghar? i think you are not telling full story here
- 30 games is close to nothing, 3000 maybe
- If you picked bellow 50 winrate hero in that time then you broke the rules. I bet you did.
btw fully agree with “Its not about one-tricking, its just about sticking with the select few roles that youre good at.” but not 50+ rule itself
Here’s an important trick. Learn about lane phases. They’re before and between the objectives. That’s why I’ve never been a fan about the mid brawls in HOTS. Take an excerpt from League and DOTA. They have their own lane phases happening constantly. On HOTS, the lane phases are too little and too lenient as players are constantly brawling. You can always commit to a brawl during Object as so to speak.
During the lane phases, you should be focusing on not missing soak and not trying to teamfight every moment. If you can bully a hero in their lane, that’s fine. However, I commonly see brawls instead with 2-3 teammates vs. enemy teammates fighting all the time and missing soak or getting wiped. Also if your team has got the laning phase down naturally and you got a roaming gank hero like Zera or Qhira, then feel free to roam as long as lanes are being soaked. It’s not unusual for me to have mediocre soak as Qhira since I roam and set up kills for my teammate’s lanes and create a snowball for the team. Same thing applies for merc camps if you have a merc type hero like Sonya or Malth.
You act like trolls, game throwers and tilting does not exist in this game.
Shouldn’t even be considering winrate if you have less than a dozen games.
But what if you have let’s say, 100 games and 70% winrate? Sure, the 30% is indicative of something but not necessarily “x map is bad for this hero” or the Like. Regardless of team comp, if someone has 65% WR on one hero and 40% on the other, but the latter is more traditionally picked in the situation, do you take the chance and go with the 40%?
I play Vikings on hanamura for example, currently in plat 2 and I usually carry those games despite people saying in draft “this map isn’t good for Viking”
