[HC] Togwaggle, King of the Kobolds

Togwaggle is the King of the Kobolds, and a recurring unique character from Hearthstone. Since we have no real Kobold representative from World of Warcraft, I figured Togwaggle would be the best representative. This was originally supposed to be a concept for April Fool’s, but I ended up being a bit late on it.

In HotS, Togwaggle is a close range assassin that prioritizes vision and continual damage. He has a variety of disruption and scouting tools, but he must be cautious with his health, as vision can quickly be extinguished with careless usage of his abilities.

Universe: Hearthstone
Role: Ranged Assassin

Summon Mount
Z (Mount) – 4 sec Cooldown
Increases your movement speed by 30% while mounted.

Explanation: There is no need for a special mount.

The Darkness
Trait (Passive)
Togwaggle has five candles that float near him at all times, and an aura of darkness surrounds his vision range, extending out to 14 units, though it does not effect his vision range. The aura of darkness deals 30 (+4% per level) damage to enemy units in it that have been hit by one of Togwaggle’s abilities in the last 6 seconds every second. Togwaggle cannot gain allied vision, though their locations are marked on his map still. Every 20% health Togwaggle loses causes him to lose a candle, subtracting from extinguished candles first, reducing his vision range by 20%. A candle reignites after 20 seconds if he is above the health percentage. If Togwaggle loses all of his candles, the darkness consumes him, killing him and allowing the player to fire out the Darkness in a 8 unit long linear skillshot from Togwaggle’s corpse. If the Darkness hits an enemy Hero, they lose allied vision for 5 seconds, have their healing received reduced by 75%, and are dealt aura of darkness damage. Effects that cause Togwaggle to lose vision radius immediately extinguish a candle.

Explanation: The Darkness is key to both Kobolds in general and King Togwaggle. There is a reason they will fight to the death to make sure you don’t take their candle. I really wanted to bring a cool unique representation of The Darkness into the game.

Magical Candle
Q (4 sec Cooldown)
Togwaggle targets a 6 unit, 35 degree cone and spews fires out of one of his candles in that direction. Enemies in the fire are dealt 30 (+4% per level) damage every .25 seconds. Togwaggle can maintain the cone for up to 3 seconds, and is able to move while the effects persist. Togwaggle can cancel the candle at any time, and if he completes the channel fully, the candle is extinguished.

Explanation: Magical Candle is Togwaggle’s premier damage tool, but using it too often will extinguish his candles, bringing him closer and closer to death while also reducing his sight range significantly.

Rakanishu
W (12 sec Cooldown)
Togwaggle sends his fire spirit from his lantern to a target location within 13 range, which flies quickly and then, after reaching the area, smashes down in a fiery wave after a .5 second delay, dealing 240 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit at the area and slowing them by 40% for 3 seconds. Rakanishu remains there until picked up, refreshing the cooldown of Rakinishu, or after 6 seconds revealing a 4 unit radius around him. The aura of darkness extends outwards around Rakanishu out to 8 units.

Explanation: Rakanishu is a long ranged damage and slow tool used to extend his Darkness range out to the far areas, reveal areas for scouting, peel for allies or himself, combo his spells to stick to an enemy, and simply deal continual damage. It is incredibly versatile of a tool.

Golden Kobold
E (10 sec Cooldown)
Togwaggle tosses the golden kobold to a target location, which remains until the ability comes off cooldown. The Golden Kobold blocks line of sight for allies and enemies, and absorbs enemy skillshots. The vision area blocked off from King Togwaggle is filled with the aura of darkness.

Explanation: Golden Kobold is another tool Togwaggle has to control the area of The Darkness, but can also be used to protect him from devastating long range spells or block paths.

Ransom
Heroic #1 (80 sec Cooldown)
Togwaggle switches his vision for an enemy’s for 5 seconds. Togwaggle does not need to have vision of the enemy to cast this, and can simply click on their portrait. While switched, Togwaggle can see all enemy visions as if they were allies, but the enemy does not gain Togwaggle’s allies’ vision. The Darkness surrounds the switched enemy (dealing appropriate damage).

Explanation: Ransom reflects the first incarnation of the King Togwaggle card; it can help him see the enemy team, and also deal damage to an enemy at range if he just barely was unable to finish them off.

Light the Way
Heroic #2 (80 sec Cooldown)
Togwaggle starts to create candles in a radius around him quickly, extending out to 30 units over 2 seconds, revealing the area to Togwaggle and his allies. After 1 seconds, the candles are swiftly extinguished heading towards Togwaggle, dealing 10 (+4% per level) damage to enemies hit and covering the entire area in his aura of darkness for 7 seconds besides in Togwaggle’s vision radius.

Explanation: Light the Way is a more focused reveal tool, but can deal much more damage to the enemy team in a teamfight.

Tier 1

• Darkflame Burst: If Togwaggle extinguishes a candle through Magical Candle, it releases a final gout of flame, dealing 187 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit and slowing them by 50% for 1 second.
• Invoke the Demon: [QUEST!] Every time Rakanishu damages an enemy Hero, its damage is increased by .5 and its radius increases by 1%, up to 40 times. [Reward] After hitting enemies 40 times, its damage is increased by 40.
• Take Backsies: Togwaggle can reactivate Golden Kobold while within 1.5 range of it to grab it and tuck it away, removing it from the battlefield and resetting the cooldown of Golden Kobold.

Tier 2

• Tolin’s Goblet: When Togwaggle picks up a health globe, he gains 3 charges of this. (Active) Gain the effects of a health globe. 5 second cooldown.
• Fear the Dark: Togwaggle gains 5% increased movement speed per extinguished candle he has.
• Ankh of Lifelink: Golden Kobold grants Togwaggle a 700 (+4% per level) shield that persists while he is within 4 units of it. Damage dealt to the Golden Kobold is additionally dealt to the shield.

Tier 3

• Kobold Lackey: If Magic Candle hits the Golden Kobold, it spews the flame past the Golden Kobold in a 4 unit long, 140 degree cone.
• Wondrous Wand: After extinguishing a candle, Togwaggle’s next 2 Magical Candle’s cost no mana and do not extinguish a candle when they are used to their full duration.
• Ignited Totem: When Rakanishu is used on the Golden Kobold, it infuses itself into it, revealing a large 9 unit area around it, and slowing enemies in the area by 20% while the Golden Kobold persists. Rakanishu cannot be reclaimed while in the Golden Kobold.

Tier 4

• Ransom: Togwaggle switches his vision for an enemy’s for 5 seconds.
• Light the Way: Togwaggle starts to create candles in a radius around him quickly, extending out to 30 units over 2 seconds, revealing the area to Togwaggle and his allies. After 1 seconds, the candles are swiftly extinguished heading towards Togwaggle, covering the entire area in his aura of darkness for 7 seconds besides in Togwaggle’s vision radius.

Tier 5

• Flame Buffet: Magical Candle deals 5% increased damage every time it ticks on an enemy hero for 3 seconds.
• Candlekeeper: When Togwaggle picks up Rakanishu, he reignites an extinguished candle. If his candles are extinguished due to health lost, he gains 10% of his maximum health as a shield for 5 seconds. If broken or when it expires, that candle is extinguished again.
• Zarog’s Crown: When Golden Kobold is used, it spawns two copies of it adjacent to the Golden Kobold, forming a perpendicular line.

Tier 6

• Necromancer’s Claw: If Togwaggle extinguishes a candle through Magical Candle, he restores 10% of his maximum health.
• Never Close an Eye: Togwaggle’s vision radius is now only reduced by 10% when a candle is extinguished, Rakanishu’s range is increased by 3 units, reveals an additional 1.5 radius, and he can see through Golden Kobold, but the same area is affected by the area of darkness.
• Togwaggle’s Scheme: Every 1.5 seconds Rakanishu remains on the field before being picked up empowers him. Upon being picked up, Togwaggle gains a number of charges of Rakanishu equal to the number of times empowered, which fire minor, untalented Rakanishu’s that last for 2 seconds, deal 50% damage, and cannot be picked up.

Tier 7

• Pillage: When Ransom is used on an enemy Hero, Togwaggle steals 25% of their maximum health and all active buffs on them for the duration of the effects. If Togwaggle is damaged while he has stolen health, the stolen health is damaged first. This cannot kill an enemy Hero.
• Thousand Candles: Light the Way has a 25% increased radius, and when that area is extinguished, enemies in that area are slowed by 25%.
• Darkness-Touched: When Togwaggle is executed by the Darkness not by reaching 0 health, he gives enemies only 0.25 of a death and his death timer is reduced by 65%. In addition, his aura of darkness deals 100% increased damage.
• Encroaching Darkness: Every 8 seconds, a direction around Togwaggle from the aura of darkness is denoted. After 2 seconds, a darkness claw travels towards Togwaggle at moderate speeds. If the darkness is not hit by one of Togwaggle’s abilities before it hits him, one candle is instantly extinguished. Every successful defeat of a darkness claw grants Togwaggle 10% increased movement speed for 10 seconds (refreshing on reapplication), and reduces all of his active cooldowns by 35%.
