[HC] Thunderaan, the Windlord (Melee Assassin)

Thunderaan, The Windlord.

Thunderaan is an iconic character from the World of Warcraft Universe. Unfortunately, his list of abilities is pretty limited but he does wield the famed blade, Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, so I decided to make him an aggressive melee assassin to emulate the classes that wield that blade in WoW. Like a growing storm, Thunderaan starts out relatively weak but becomes a powerhouse late in the game.

About

Thunderaan's Trait, Elemental Lord of Air, has 3 components. The first makes it so his movement speed can never drop below 100%. The second aspect of his trait gifts him Shields when he enhances his movement speed to give him a bit more staying power in long fights. The final is his iconic sword Thunderfury which electrifies nearby enemies every third basic attack and slows their attack speed by 25%.

His Q ability is Twister. Twister travels a short distance dealing moderate damage and granting him movement speed if it hits a Hero.

Furious Gale, his W ability, deals light damage in an area around him with each basic attack so it works best if Thunderaan is in the thick of things to be the most effective.

The final basic ability is Pressure, a two part ability. When Thunderaan is at high health and Pressure is activated, all nearby enemies will be drawn toward him. While at low health it will repel enemies so they can’t engage him in melee combat unless they have a gap closing ability.

Raging Tempest is his first heroic ability. When Raging Tempest is activated Thunderaan powers up then charges in the chosen direction. If a Hero is hit they are Stunned for 1.25 seconds and dealt moderate damage. As soon as Thunderaan hits a Hero he begins powering again and can charge up to two additional times, Stunning and damaging Heroes. Enemy Heroes can only be affected by Raging Tempest once per cooldown. While powering up, Thunderaan can continue to move, attack, and use abilities.

The second heroic ability is Elemental Binding which chains the target Hero to Thunderaan and deals higher damage the closer they are to him.

Q | Twister
Cooldown 7 Seconds Mana 30 Range 5
Conjure a violent twister that deals 136 damage per second. If Twister damages a Hero Thunderaan gains 20% movement speed for 3 seconds.

Comments: The Twister starts small and grows larger as it travels before dissipating.
Vector Targeting. Travels 2 Range from cast. Size: .35 to .75.
W | Furious Gale
Cooldown 10 Seconds Mana 40 Radius 2
Each time you attack an enemy for the next 6 seconds the air whips up around you dealing 32 damage to all nearby enemies.
E | Pressure
Cooldown 15 seconds Mana 25 Radius 2.5
Change the air pressure around Thunderaan depending on his current Health for 3 seconds. At high Health enemies are drawn to Thunderaan. At low Health they are pushed away.

Comments: Activating above 50% Health draws enemies in. It acts like a constant pull on them. Activating below 50% Health pushes nearby enemies away keeping them from engaging you in melee. The closer enemies are to you the stronger the pressure making it harder to run away or engage him.
R1 | Raging Tempest
Cooldown 90 Seconds Mana 80 Range 4
Power up for 2 seconds then charge forward dealing 86 damage to the first Hero hit plus an additional 19 damage every .25 seconds and Stunning them for the next 1.25 seconds. Each time a Hero is hit Thunderaan can power up again, damaging and Stunning additional Heroes up to 2 more times. A Hero can only be affected by Raging Tempest once per cooldown.

Comments: Powering up is not a channel and can only be interrupted by Silences, Stuns, and Sleeps. While Raging Tempest is powering you may still attack, move, and use abilities. The charge occurs as soon as he powers up with Thunderaan charging in the direction of the mouse cursor, 4 units away.
R2 | Elemental Binding
Cooldown 75 Mana 75 Range 4
Shoot a bolt of electricity that binds Thunderaan and the target together. The bound enemy is dealt up to 246 damage each second for 4 seconds with the damage decreasing the farther they are from Thunderaan.

Comments: Damage decreases by 25% every 1 range from Thunderaan.
D | Elemental Lord of Air
Your movement speed cannot be reduced below 100% and anytime Thunderaan is above 100% movement speed, due to his movement speed increases, he gains 126 Shields every second.
The cumulative Shield cannot equal more than 25% of his maximum Health.

Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker Every 5th Basic Attack electrifies 3 nearby enemies dealing 50% of his basic attack damage.

Comments: The Thunderfury procs will only bounce if there are enemies within 2.5 range from your target and cannot hit the same Hero twice.

Level 1
Shredder (Q)
Quest: Hit 30 Heroes with Twister.
Reward: Twister Slows enemies by 20% and deals 75 additional damage.
Never Ending Storm (W)
Quest: Damage Heroes 75 times with Furious Gale.
Reward: Basic Attacks against Heroes extend the duration of Furious Gale by .75 seconds.
Charged Bolts
Each time Thunderfury activates gain a stack of Charged Bolts. At 5 charges, Thunderfury is empowered causing your basic attacks to deal 50% additional damage for 6 seconds.

Level 4
The Perfect Storm (Q)
Twister travels twice as far and its damage grows by 36 for each unit it travels.
Blitz (W)
Increase your attack speed by 10%, up to 100%, each time Furious Gale deals damage to a Hero for 4 seconds. The duration refreshes each time it is activated.
Oppressive Winds
Basic Attacks against Heroes whose movement speed is slower than your current movement speed are dealt 2% of their maximum Health in damage.

Level 7
Blur (E)
Pressure provides Evasion for 3 seconds when cast at low Health and each Basic Attack that deals damage to you reduces the cooldown of Pressure by .5 seconds.
Wind Shield
Every 45 seconds gain 50 Spell Armor against the next enemy Ability and subsequent abilities for 3 seconds, reducing the damage taken by 50%. The cooldown of Wind Shield is lowered by 3 seconds each time Twister deals damage to Heroes.
Swift (D)
Activate to clear Roots and Slows. Additionally, you gain 30% movement speed for 3 seconds.
20 sec CD.
Dispersion
Being Stunned causes you to disperse into a cloud, granting Unstoppable, allowing you to pass through enemy Heroes and impassable terrain for 1.5 seconds.
This cannot occur more than once every 15 seconds.

Level 13
We Got Cows! (Q)
Twister deals 100% additional damage to Minions and Summons as they are caught up by the Twister and travel around it. Heroes hit by the debris are dealt 54 damage per strike.
Zephyr (W)
When Furious Gale is triggered Thunderaan and nearby allies gain 10% movement speed for 1.5 seconds.
Vacuum (E)
Enemy Heroes near Thunderaan lose 25 Spell Power when Pressure is activated for 3 seconds. For each Hero affected, Thunderaan gains 5 Spell Power for 5 seconds.

Level 16
Discombobulatingly Devastating Power (Q)
Heroes hit by Twister are marked for 4 seconds. Basic attacks against marked enemies deal 100% additional damage. Each of these attacks activate Thunderfury.
Gale-Force (W)
When Furious Gale deals damage to an enemy Hero it deals its damage again multiplied by the amount of Heroes hit. These additional activations deal 75% normal damage.

Comments: Gah this was tough to find the words to accurately describe it… anywho..
While Furious Gale is active and you hit a Hero it will strike again every .15 seconds for each enemy Hero hit. For example: You connect with a basic attack and Furious Gale procs because you’ve previously activated the ability. There are 3 nearby enemies (Your target and 2 other Heroes) so the initial Gale damages them and then every .15 seconds the Gale will strike again for each enemy hit; in this case 3 additional times. This happens each time Furious Gale is activated from your basic attacks so it’s a constant ticking damage to nearby enemies.
Eye of the Storm (W/E)
Casting Pressure, while above 50% Health and within 1.5 seconds after Furious Gale damages an enemy Hero, creates a wall of wind around you preventing anything from passing through for 2.5 seconds. Enemies trapped in the Eye are Silenced. Increase the cooldown of Pressure by 5 seconds.

Level 20
Essence of Air (D)
You are now immune to slow effects and movement speed bonuses you grant yourself are doubled in speed and duration.
Overcharged (R1)
Raging Tempest can power up 2 additional times. Each subsequent power up increases its damage by 25%.
Bound Together (R2)
The Elemental Binding chain shortens as Thunderaan gets closer to the bound Hero preventing them from moving away from him.
