WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider

Just a quick update, not really requesting support but giving information for other Qwest/Centurylink users.

Started surfing around on other websites that are specific to ISP related issues. Found other threads about this on ISP related forums. And pretty much seems like doesn’t mater if you got Fiber or DSL at 7o’clock for many centurylink users if you’re on central servers you’re going to have a bad time.

Most people using VPNs to get around it. And there didn’t appear to be any official response yet.

I’ve tried getting them to do something about it through the tech support lines/chat. But the normal wall of potatos is has proven hard to get past. All I managed was a we’ill send your information to an expert because no one is in right now. I’ll probably try daytime at some point and maybe I can get someone that knows how to deal with routing issues.

Sometimes such issues happens.

I don’t know. Some guy was saying something similar happened in the past when there was a spat between ISPs and capacity. And mentioned something about purposely effed up QoS settings maybe being the cause. Since other people tracking this are noting it started consistently at a particular time. And I kind of wonder if that is what’s happening.

Cause evidently centurylink bought out Level3 back in 2016. Which is stupid because anti-trust issues. And I wouldn’t put it past a telecom company to be purposely messing up a common route to hurt competition.

I don’t know if that’s right or not. But I know telecom companies love screwing customers so I don’t see why they wouldn’t love screwing competition. Internets just some game of thrones bullcrap at this point. When it should have been regulated like our utility companies are ages ago.

Hey there,

It looks like the latency spike on this MTR is starting between the computer and router. If this is a wifi connection I might suggest re-testing the issue on a wired ethernet connection to see if it persists. If this works, be sure to contact the provider of the device for assistance troubleshooting the signal stability.
