Game Crash at Startup

Hi Guys,

every time that i try to play HOTS the game Crashs. Sometimes it crashs even b4 getting into the game, sometimes i get into initial screen and then it crashs.

I have already repaired and changed my NVidia driver. Im actually using the 452.06 version. I had it updated but i rolled it back trying to fix this issue.

Any suggestion?

Hey there,

Let’s go ahead and have you post a ‘DxDiag’ so we can further investigate the problem. Here are the instructions:

  1. Press Windows Key + R.
  2. Type DxDiag and press Enter.
  3. In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
  4. Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save
  5. Once you have that made, open the file. You’ll need to copy and paste the contents of the Text document into the post, and put four Tilde (~) marks above the DXDiag. It’ll look like this:

Howdy Snippao,

It looks like there are video card errors so let’s try a clean driver reinstall. First, remove any leftover driver files by using the third party driver remover DDU. You can find a guide on using this program here.

After this, pick up the latest driver from here. Run the installer and select the Nvidia Driver option only. Then I would recommend doing a Custom install and selecting the ‘Perform a clean installation’ option.

Once the driver install has finished, change the Nvidia settings so that the game is using the Nvidia card:
• Right click on the desktop and launch NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D settings.
• Go to Program Settings tab.
• Select the game to change the graphics processor under “Select a program to customize”. If it’s not is not available, select the specific game from the drop down list.
• Select your “Prefer maximum performance” graphics card under “Power management”.

Then reset the game settings to set everything back to default/

Didn’t see any obvious problems in that DxDiag. You may want to check the temperatures but otherwise, I would suggest creating a support ticket and attaching your MSinfo so this can be investigated further. Make sure to include this forum thread in your ticket.
