Feedback regarding MMR, QM, Ranked games state

Dear Blizzard Support / HotS Development Team,

Why do you have to ruin a perfectly good game? In my last match, I had 3 AFK players, and that was the final straw. The Quick Match option is in such a terrible state that it has forced clueless beginners to flood Ranked play. Why isn’t there some sort of Unranked Draft mode readily available before QM to fix this? Nobody wants to play 5 Assassins vs. 5 Assassins matches in QM.

Furthermore, why are MMR and Rank separated in Ranked play? These two numbers are completely different. If I have a high MMR in a lower rank, the system pairs me with absolute beginners just to balance out the enemy team’s average. Consequently, people are not playing in the ranks they actually belong to. I might not be a top-tier player, but my teammates are consistently so bad it’s laughable. They don’t know how to ban, they don’t know how to counter-pick, and they have no idea that first-picking Lt. Morales is a terrible idea.

Also, what happens to the matchmaking when we play in a duo or trio? The game pairs us with such incompetent teammates that the matches become literally unwinnable. I have slowly dropped from Gold all the way down to Bronze. Looking at my friends list, the exact same thing is happening to everyone else, and they are all quitting the game.

It would be great if you fixed Ranked matchmaking and introduced a proper draft for QM so people wouldn’t use Ranked as a training ground. Right now, a level 1 Tracer goes into QM, realizes there is no frontline and no healer, and then takes that zero-experience Tracer straight into Ranked to practice.

I’m going back to WoW, or maybe Guild Wars 2, since the third expansion is coming out anyway. I have uninstalled HotS. You have officially ruined it completely. Congratulations.

Best regards

I understand everything you’re saying — I just lost my PERSONAL ranked points because the system matched me with a Muradin who had a 0% win rate in ranked.
(Thank MS-Blizzards for such a generous MMR system that pairing equally capable players. :potato:) Sure, he only had 10 games, but his win rate is NOT going to get better anytime soon, because when the enemies started attacking our core, even 20 pings weren’t enough for him to realize that killing minions on the other side of the map at that moment was absolutely useless and only guaranteed our loss.”

They are matching people with 3000 level + with - 100 level … just to show you how this system is broken and unfair. Of course you gonna lose MMR points in QM
