Before Activision purchased blizzard, we used to have a winter event in the game. I really enjoyed it, is there any chance it could be brought back?

They only added snowball ARAM.
Be happy that the intern manages to change the background image every 6 months.
The merging of Activision and Blizzard was, as far as i can find, in 2008/2009. HotS was first announced 2010, there was no before for this game.
The winter version of Cursed Hollow is currently available for custom games at least, i don´t think there will be more than this.

If they were able to make the snowball map available this time around, itâs possible they might be able to re-enable previous events going forward, although that might be just a little beyond their current scope. Other games like Diablo III donât have any new content but have cycled through previous ladder seasons and their themes. But I havenât seen anything under Classic Games revisit previous content. StarCraft II cycles through previous co-op mutations but they donât have any events with double XP or anything like that.
My guess is that custom maps is as far as theyâll take it but I agree that it would be really fun to revisit the events like the Christmas board game, the StarCraft and Diablo crossovers, or other things like that with all the features.

What was that ? Was it a real map or an Aram ? Iâve absolutely no memory of this.
I think they will never bring that because that increase the chance to get free content on what is considered a legacy / abandonned game which probably doesnât provide them enough money.
I remember that christmas event was the most prolific of all.

A special winter-themed version of the Cursed Hollow map with it´s own mechanic (snowballs). It was playable in the Brawl format before ARAM became a thing during winter time.
As you need to setup a custom game, you´ll have to find some people to play with of course instead of just queueing for the format.

Activision merged with Blizzard in 2008; Activision Blizzard bought back a majority share from Vivendi in 2013; both of which predate HotS "winter veilâ event of 2014.
However, since you didnât actually provide any useful additions to indicate which âchristmas eventâ you mean, the topic deviated away from what you may have âmeantâ since you were posting âwrong information.â
HotS observed Warcrafts "winter vielâ until 2018 & 2019.
Maybe you mean âbefore microsoft purchased blizzardâ but that still leaves all other available years, and a variety of maps/brawls/events whatever that still fill all that timeframe.
So it seems⌠âyou have no clue what was being discussedâ.
And despite the necrobump⌠you still havenât indicated which âchristmas eventâ you were trying to have brought back. So maybe you should have just made a new topic â in a seasonally fitting frame of time â to request what you actually meant the first time.
