This is a suggestion and recommended change to make Storm League “better” and eliminate one of the Blizzard supported trolling and griefing mechanisms.
Instead of providing an XP bonus for Storm League, it would be better to provide an XP penalty (recommend minus 25%) and add the XP bonus to Unranked (recommend plus 25%) and Quick Match (recommend plus 10%).
This change would discourage people from playing ranked and not caring about winning or losing because they are just there for the XP bonus.
I would appreciate others thoughts on this idea. It should be a fairly simple code change, and would likely end the people “I’m just level hero so-and-so and care nothing about team comp or game outcome.”

Stop matching random players against 4 man premades, fix the broken MMR system and start banning players who troll ranked game modes.
Also remove the system in which players can play ranked to get there quests done reguardless of the roles they pick.
When was the last time you saw anyone play SL for XP? That literally doesn’t happen, so it’s a complete non-issue.
P.S. And if anyone does play SL for XP, they most likely would want to maximize the gain and play in a full 5-man party and, of course, win the game (for that 50k extra).
Also, since you don’t get any XP during draft (~5 minutes), QM would still give you more xp/hour…
Most players play to get quests done and to troll others. They do not even try to win.
