Change his tag in hero select and his quick match matchmaking status. It’s really that easy. Blaze main tank has always been weak and even heroes like imperius or xul are better tanks than blaze.
Bro said Xul main tank, just say you’re bad.
you are in another thread complaining about nazeebo btw. As a yrel main who can knock his teeth in effortlessly.
When did I complain? All i said was they have to play the game. Typical brainless Valeera player being a forum warrior unable to read anything.
Blaze is a tank, just a ranged one. Frontline is something that’s kinda necessary in every game; the tank doesn’t have to be frontline. As u point out, there are other “tanky” heroes. That’s because tank in heroes doesn’t mean “takes all the damage.” Tanks have self sustain and damage mitigation, yes, but their primary purpose is being difficult to ignore for long. They kinda “lead the fight” by where they stand, since they’re the most difficult to dislodge.
No. He is a Tank in all its glory. The problem is that he is an even better Bruiser. He just needs adjustments to his kit and some talents.
Do you… actually play the game?
Seek professional help. You need it.
Xul can be drafted into tank role but the composition around him is very specific to get working but it is real since even during HGC when a team drafted him and won.
Post rework Xul gave him a lot to play with that allows him to do that role with his same weaknesses still intact.
I mean it’s the same way you can get several of the Melee assassins into a bruiser role. Or how a dozen ranged assassins can be drafted specifically for off lane (which in a traditional comp would be the bruiser)
Or heck, Literally any comp that runs Tyrael usually requires an extra CC from someone else that makes a bruiser or melee assassin often doing more peeling then Tyr until 13
It’s doable but almost all the time doing it requires a compromise of some kind somewhere else in the comp
Now on the topic of this thread. Blaze isn’t just a tank he’s literally my favourite tank to have diving in with me a good blaze spreading the oil for CC the sheer durability bunker saves fights and stops so much shenadagins against wombo combo’s and on more tight maps where it’s harder to dive around him his durability shines in tank races
Blaze is a solid tank, not sure what you are talking about. You need to concede to the fact that you just don’t know how to play him effectively.
Where I see a lot of people fail is using his charge (jet propulsion) and miss, then get melted down by enemy team. Use your oil slick to slow someone, then charge in (guaranteeing a hit), stun (pop your stim) and go from there. Don’t forget that your oil slick fire heals for quite a bit, and can be used in a team fight after a charge, or retreating to your tower/backline if you are low health.
Also worth mentioning is that you shouldn’t always light your oil. The slow is strong if teammates if they can take advantage of it or for zoning. You need to alternate when you light your oil and when not to.
Easy build:
2-1-3-2-3-1-2
Ult combo: Oil slick enemy, charge in (ideally to multiple enemies), pop your pyromania, pop your Endurance stimpack, pop your ult.
^ Again, super easy starter build I recommend to all new Blaze players, there are more.
Oh and unless you’re running some lucio speed boost comp never use charge at full range
It’s a recipe for being cut off from your healer and your DPS who want to return fire while you’re getting melted
Blaze and Anub-arak players are the worst offenders of this by far closely followed by Mei
Sorry, but I need to correct this again.
Tank Xul was never a “thing”. Only ONE team used Xul as Tank, (Octalysis). And they would ONLY use him on Spider Queen or Infernal Shrines, and only if they didn’t get two bans among Tyrande, Yrel and / or Medhiv.
Also, some of the talents used no longer exist, and most importantly, one key talent, Tyrande’s “Kaldoeri resistance” was nerfed by getting both the spell armor reduced, and the duration reduced from 3 seconds to 2 seconds.
So I personally don’t see how this can still be done anymore. And you certainly can’t do it with randoms.
This old video explains it well.
Xul basically needs a healer or support who can keep him alive to tank as he’s quite squishy. Medivh is an option, you could also go into a whitemane support. Definitely need cleanse. And yeah the primary reason you would want xul main tank is for his waveclear and macro potential, so you would pick him on maps where that’s important
Blaze’s engage can be interrupted, and if it’s dodged he is just dead. His stun is powerful but once it’s on cooldown he’s a bit of a sitting duck, unable to peel beyond an oil splill slow and he cannot really disengage either.
New habits at 1 is kinda required for tank blaze, but if you don’t have the globes supply for cdr on trait he will struggle a lot.
Saying xul is a better main tank is probably an exaggeration, but imo they are similarly viable in the role
You answered your own question, “randoms” aren’t going to push it in a normal game, but its possible because his CC is point and click and that makes him able to easily make space, something a lot of tanks do.
Uther falls into this because sure, he can heal and armor, but point and click cc is quite scary, especially when aiming it isn’t the requirement, its being close and being close means people will get away, therefore the space is made in the process.
Speaking of blaze, nanomachine coating needs a buff, and fuel leak needs to just be made into a baseline quest you can complete by late game. It’s a nifty way to run away… which is generally what you don’t want to be doing with your stun, and is at the same tier as the always useful suppressive fire.
blaze isnt a tank bc of his E, he’s a tank bc of his (non-bunker) R and his D, and also his E. Same as Tyrael; his only CC is on his R, but he isn’t a tank bc of his CC, he’s a tank bc of his CC and his escapes.
Xul isn’t a tank bc he has no escapes; sure he has a root to engage with but anything he can’t walk away from kills him. Same reason that Kaelthas, Tyrande and Malfurian aren’t tanks.
CC and escapes makes a tank.
By this logic arthas, garrosh, diablo, and stitches are not tanks, but hogger, qhira, Valeera, maiev, brightwing, and medivh are tanks
arthas has slows, movespeed and roots, he can walk out of situations, and in teamcomps where he can’t he just isnt a very good tank.
garrosh has unstoppable & infinite AOE slows in a teamfight
diablo can push his way out of a gank
& stitches is a backline off-tank unless he takes the ult that lets him walk out of a situation.
I think he needs better talents to be as tanky as varian, stitches, diablo, garrosh, anubarak,Jo. he can be easily disabled by hard cc and his only stun is a skillshot , you miss it , you die .
and good armor too .
some people don’t read patches and they still think the hero is the same as it was before .
