Yay or nay on that this should be baseline for him? Its one of his biggest reasons to be picked on maps for his PVE presence (Such as immortals), but at the same time players want to have a little more leeway in their talents at level 1.
Almost all buffs have to come with small nerfs, so if he were to get this talent, would you think that he should get a nerf of some kind (And what should that nerf be?), or do you think he’d be fine without a nerf if he got it baseline? (His normal win rate appears to be close to 50% outside of low ranks, which points to him being fairly balanced)
Nay, when they make something baseline they almost always nerf it to the ground.

Better give him some talents in his lvl 1 that can compete with it better then.
Protector of Aior is a trap talent and Reactive Parry no one picks.

While I agree that protector of aiur seems like a trap (Though, conversely, the most picked talent because its FUN), the numbers on heroes profiles seems to indicate the two are actually near equal when it comes to win percents.
PoA can be okay if the enemy laner like Diablo or Chen insists on facetanking you for free stacks, and if you’re not on a map like Battlefield of Eternity that greatly benefits from AO’s objective & camp taking boost.
But that’s a bit of ifs. And he is not that common of a pick anyway, many teammates are disgruntled if you pick him at all for various reasons.
or they could just ,make his other talent’s better so that they can compete with it. he has a odd talent tree. LV 4 he pretty much has one good talent that is a must pick.
Amateur Opponent is ok as it is, a talent.
I don’t really like the idea of it being made baseline, as that plus one of his other two level 1 talents would be far too strong, and something would need to be nerfed to compensate. He really can’t afford nerfs at the moment. Although he is viable, and in the right situations absolutely terrifying, he is far from the strongest overall bruiser at the moment.
He is in kind of an odd situation as he can’t really compete with the rest of the roster in draft modes, but can be an absolute beast in QM or against teams that don’t know how to deal with him. He is kind of like a more useful Butcher at the moment.
