Mac exposes brightness automatically after some time.
Only way I find is to draw game and change it. After almost every game. Sometimes I need to do this during the game.
No one cannot change the brightness. Brightness is usually controlled by the display or the GPU.
One can change the gamma but one never should since all displays use a sRGB gamma response which the HDR shaders also use by default. Gamma is not brightness. Yes it can make the scene look brighter, but that is a side effect of incorrect gamma settings. Brightness is a perceived increase in light emitted by every pixel.
What you might want to do is change the contrast. This keeps black at black levels while raising the luminescence of white.
fn + F2 (or just use the keyboard symbol with the light thing)
