It’d be great if you could add male models and sound files from Diablo III. For example, if I choose Valla, I can switch her to the male Demon Hunter who will have the same abilities but just different appearance and voice files.
It would also be interesting to have a separate character, but for the sake of costs and space for new characters, I would understand the male characters essentially being reskins of the same characters.

I suggested this a long time ago, males and females for the diablo 3 heroes (and Xul) the diablo followers skins for TLVs and a zerg drone skin for Probius, stupid goblin has to steal his Terran SCV skin
We could probably fit that draenei dude whats-his-face that uses the same hammer as Yrel for a male draenei Yrel skin.
Honestly there’s a lot of potential for gender/character switch ups in this game that they didn’t really explore other than the overwatch and Halloween event
Id probably put up with nazeebo a lot more if it were the female variant and seriously consider playing Kharazim properly as well. (And low-key become a male Valla main).
But, like any possibility of a Ragnaros skin, this ain’t ever gonna happen.
The male Barbarian was actually in a concept stage and could be seen in one of the official art pieces, but he was eventually replaced by the female version, Sonya.

I did try to make it easy on them with just doing a skin/voice swap from Diablo files. 
I’d love to see Maraad added to the game under Yrel’s abilities. That’s an excellent idea! 
Indeed. Blizzard’s fall to woke DEI girlbosses. One of the same things that’s ruining WoW. That and the Disnification of WoW. This isn’t helping their bland considering it was founded as a masculine franchise and millions of people, including women, preferred it that way. As soon as those charges got slammed on them, Blizzard went into full damage control mode and never quite got out. Ever since then, male characters have gotten the shaft.
Prime Evil Diablo has quite the different silhouette to his base form, I mean have you seen his hip to waste ratio, and they’ve managed just fine.
I was seriously tinkering around with a male barbarian hero, but they were one of the ‘lost’ that you encounter in the Ruins of Sescheron.
An ambush hero that punished enemy heroes that wandered off, especially touching bushes, as he could ‘drop in’ to deal severe damage while heavily relying on vampiric damage to heal himself (basically Malthael but not as lame) to counter heroes that liked to wander off willy nilly.
One of the member of the Unclean; a cannabilistic Barbarian that you do not want to fight 1 on 1 due to their insane healing, but could be shafted if you were smart and avoided wandering off alone.
The Unclean would literally drop in randomly in the Ruins of Sescheron and there was little to no warning of them attacking you. They were quite dangerous before you were geared up.
Base Diablo versus Prime Evil Diablo argument: 1. It’s not perfect as is it’s the sketchiest they’ve ever gotten with a skin
2. Diablo isn’t a humanoid figure that has to have specific outline to not bleed into others He has a bigger more monsterous frame that makes him standout more compared to the human characters and it’s why they can get away with it

Their voice files are already in Diablo III, same as the current ones. They can just use them if they want to cut corners.
That’s what making games is all about. I never understood why players make excuses for devs or companies. It’s their job, mate.
They have no voices for hero specific interactions, kills, thanking the healer etc.
the prime evil diablo skin was a bit of a breakthrough as the blues, at release, mentioned [they] had figured how to do skins that had widely different bone/rigs than the baseskin. If players looked at the cosplay kits for skins like Warden Tyrande or Winterveil Jaina, the body would have parts cut off so the extra layers wouldn’t drastically change the model away from the bone/rig used to animate the hero.
Unfortunately, the devteam was cut before other similarly drastic skins could be added Getting some alt/hero skins would be nice without needing to make and balance new skills, or potentially modifying older ones to have a better body without skimming parts (as is the case with warden tyrande)
It’s a good idea but those would definitely be $25 worth lof gems legendaries. Or just real money only.

This is true, but most of the responses can be covered - if Blizzard really REALLY wants to penny pinch. Personally, I’d like to have the male Demon Hunter in this game with other abilities. I prefer a focus on traps mixed with fire arrows and explosives. Given the state of this game, I’d count myself lucky to get the reskin and limited sound files.
Doesn’t bother me. Though they should be available like any character.
there are plenty ofm issing lines that are necessary that are HOTS specific “lets get the mercs, attack this keep” “attack the core” etc
People who WANT the D3 alternate gender models probably want to actually see something akin to what they saw in Diablo 3 rather then “generic gender swap” and several of them just would not look the same without altering the sillhouette too much
HOnestly while the game was still being developed I wouldn’t have put it passed the devs to have the D3 alternate gender characters on the docket at some point for actually new characters to be added at some point.
I agree 100%, but I know the state of the game might limit that. Ideally I want the full deal
