Thats just variance, its always gonna happen.
If someone created a card that kills you or wipes your board, its better to just think about how you couldve played to your outs or how you could’ve played the matchup better.
I died to a DH earlier today that generated Doomguard for lethal, is that frustating? Sure.
But its better to have a mentality of what you can control rather than focus on what you can’t.
If there are less “created by” cards or cards in general in a format (its the start of rotation mind you) then the cards ARE gonna feel more impactful and tilting.
There are less cards in the standard format meaning less cards in the pool to discover.
That gets better as more is added over time.
There is currently less “pack fillers” you can have discovered and a lot of them were rotated out, there’ll be more as more expansions are released throughout the year.
Or maybe you missed the part in the video where he mentions compared to previous metas, we currently have less rng cards in the game.
There is less rng overall than there used to be, unless you’re playing wild ig.
He also mentioned how this affects standard.
The main issue rn is how impactful the cards feel.

DH Discovers
This is because there’s less in the Discover pulls making it more likely to hit stronger cards.
Dark Gifts are also a very strong mechanic that are used in only a handful of places (Warrior, Xavius etc.)
It is the first expansion of the year, this’ll likely get better over time.
They already gutted Imbue Druid.
They’ll likely nerf a few of the other outliers at some point and then we’ll have more expansions.
Honestly, the impact of the cards always feels worse around this time of year.

It’s not random, you get 1/2 games were you are given a solid way of winning, then you have 5-10 games were you get nothing, mostly to keep you at the same rank…It’s not shadow ranking or whatever. This is how blizzard does stuff…Like I play at 9k rating, and one game I totally get all I need, and 25 games after I struggle to get something decent on the board…Yea, it’s random =))), only that it’s not since it happens always.
