Amen. Maybe a few minor adjustments to Unholy, but DK isn’t the problem. Turn 5 30/30 from hand or turn 8 otk after boardclear and fullheal turn 6 and 7 is.
Pally is more than relevant right now.
I agree with you. dK seems to well thought out, balanced, no real over tuned plays when compared to what everyone else can do. That’s about the power level I’d like to see. I know from a personal standpoint, powercreep and busted stuff has kept me away.
Against what? Pally has been sh1t since day 3 of the meta being settled. It’s countered by nearly every deck and relies heavily on draw, with sh1t draw mechanics.
I believe it has 4 decks that are tier 2 or better.
The pure paladin is sitting firmly in tier 1 as one of the top decks of the current meta.
Silver hand might just rise to tier 1 and control and dragon are perfectly viable with positive win rates.
I will add that every variation is also pretty fun.
Warrior has one deck that is bouncing above and below 50% and is easily the class that might need the most help. They need to be careful though. A buff to enrage and a nerf to other decks could accidently make it a problem deck.
Oh you mean when it feeds on DK and Druid outside of Legend and gets routinely destroyed by DH and Rogue in legend? I’ve yet to play against a DK or Druid in legend, coincidentally the Decks I fed on as Pally to break through, hmmm…
Go look at Hsreplay
Paladin has one of the best decks in the meta right now. They have at least 3 decks right now.
I already did, and it performs horribly against the most played decks in legend. It’s a nice deck to climb and then has zero chance once you break through.
I would agree but place it in upper tier 2 rather than t1. While strong, it is more fair and interactable than rogue and DH right now, and has slightly less speed on average than Implock.
Metastats says 50% winrate agains Fel DH and 44.4% against miracle rogue, with favorable winrates against DK and druid as you said. It definitely is a step down from the bonkers OP stuff, but it wins on an above average draw still.
It’s top 3 worst “meta” matchups are all within tier 1. It performs horribly against the top rated decks in the meta, which are all the most used decks in legend. Again, it climbs well and then gets hard stopped.
we know that for some reason or another, some cards are just left alone when they are clearly the problem.
I guess that’s the devs thinking that said cards are too “thematic” or whatver and decide to only touch them after everything else was tried and failed to achieve the desired goal…
I hope we get some nerfs here soon. I love this game but am losing motivation with it. the Level of brokeness from combo’s with rogue and that demon hunter deck, and druid OTK armor, and bless priest is just not sitting right with me.
sinstone and draka was a mistake. bringing back radiant elemental was a mistake. Brann was a mistake. the new druid minion was a mistake. and I will go as far to say that Guff was always a mistake and Celestial alignment (ppl will disagree with the Celestial alignment one probably the most). to some extent scourge was a mistake in rogue as well, though I think a 3 mana discount and he is fine.
on a positive, I like conctions in rogue just not miracle conction rogue.
This is completely ignoring the reality of the community.
We have to keep it real here. There’s no way the community would have given Blizzard a pass on not nerfing Denathrius.
Let’s keep it 100%; the community would have just been outraged that Brann got nerfed; BECAUSE OF DENATHRIUS.
You might have said exactly what you are saying now, with just Brann and Denathrius flipped.
The release of DK has everything to do with the problems we’re facing. Day 1, we were swimming in a sea of DK. Day 2, the counters came; which are all from off the board damage to go around the removals.
This is a Hearthstone first. Never before has aggro been unplayable on release of a new expansion.
It’s taken aggro a long time to start coming out, because it needed DK to drop to a reasonable play rate. It’s only starting to happen at Diamond and Legend now.
They have to nerf Rogue and Warlock. Probably DH also. But if this bumps Blood DK significantly; this meta won’t be better if it hangs around 20% play rate.
I promise to make Blood DKs life a living nightmare as a Priest player if they start having high play rates. I will mercilessly drag every game to fatigue and punish them.
All this, I will do for you Marco. ![]()
I really hope they don’t buff anything until they see the effects of nerfs. Especially with DK. Maybe some really minor ones to really underperforming cards, but I can’t even think of anything. Everything does what it’s supposed to pretty reasonably. I’m not really a fan of when they overbuff things just to push them into being meta.
Deathwhisper could be a 4/4? Saurfang could be a 4/5? Meat Grinder could be a 2 mana 2/3. Unholy Frenzy could be 2 mana. Malignant Horror could be a 3/4. Possessifier could be a 3/4 or 4/3. Same with Rime Sculptor.
We also have to be pretty mindful of what’s rotating in April. They can make some core set changes too. (I think this is partly why they haven’t hit Warlock harder, it’s getting a lot worse after rotation)
This balance patch is potentially going to be nuts, though.
Priest, DH, Hunter, Rogue, Warlock and Druid all warrant nerfs.
thats not gonna change things if th dagger is 15/2. Shadowstep needs a nerf to not reduce stuff below 1 mana. Or drakka goes to 5 and mailbox dancer goes to 3 alos.
I dont want buffs to triple blood dk its the type of control i dislike a bunch of board removal mostly and hp buff.
Just removal controll decks are bad because they just remove and grind out the game.
I prefer control that swithces over to offense.
I think what scares me even more is people who like the just play removal playstyle but maybe i am at fault i gues some players like this control style but its not the type of control i like to play.
Ive said it before just playing clears and nothing is for me as low skil intensive as some of the more straight forward aggro decks hope i did not offend anyone just my opinion.
Hard agree with this and OP
DK is fun to play but it’s a balanced class. Balance doesn’t prevail in this meta. I played as much as I could before I was tired of losing way more than I was winning with the new class.
I think we might actually see some DKs in there since the class can’t be banned for this tournament. Maybe it won’t work but I can see some people making a deck as a counter to some other deck specifically as a way to counter a playstyle without worrying about it getting banned.
