Use this Forum as a Resource?

I have a chance and honor to chat with a new friend I made on forum recently. He/She used to play competitively, and it was quite a joy to watch him/her play.

That chat triggered a thought in me.

This forum is filled with a myriad of different people, with different culture, knowledge, experience, expertise, etc, etc…

Why are we not utilizing this forum as a resource to add value to each other? There is so much potential here.

A simple friend made, a simple chat, an “honest” post can lead to many unexpected outcomes.

  • gain new insights to become better player
  • gain a friend with unique skill that can help you, e.g. pc repairs/troubleshooting
  • travel guides/advisors
  • recipe experts ( deck recipes to pancake recipes )
  • sharing common hobby tips and tricks
  • netflix reccomendations
  • offers and bundles, promotions
  • so much more

I hope this post would trigger a little thought within each of us, and think : Am I using this Forum as a Resource?

I honestly wish the demeanor/tenor of the forums was better overall.

All we can control is ourselves though. I know I try and respond, when I do, with information to help people who might view the post later and not play/follow as much as I do. Sure I might respond to troll threads in too detailed of a fashion but minor price

I guess all of that was to say that I wish we saw more collaboration but… the only one we can truely control is ourselves

I recommend eating pizza with coke zero and watching Prince of Persia:Sands of time. Great great movie.

I also am a registered nurse and can provide hypothetical medical advice for your hypothetical illnesses. Without the word hypothetical this is illegal. But if you add hypothetical then its ok lol.

I have a great fancy simple recipe for lemon pie. Sweet and tart. Good with milk.

I can home-make kettle corn. But its too complicated to share so dont ask. Lol

If I think of other things I let you all know.

The tourney by the unofficial discord group is a great start, showing collaborations are possible when we link like-minded people together.

There are also some mainstay posters at their respective haunts in new player, bugs, etc forum that provide helps to others.

I suspect that some players might have a reservation about the community here, and maybe hesitant to ask or post.

They might be worried they get harassed, flamed, belittle, laughed upon, etc, etc, (but does it matter? If I make a mistake, I learn from it and adjust)

One “problem” I have is that I do not know what contents this community enjoys seeing, so that I can make more of it. (or what contents to stop making :sweat: )

Yes much tasty.

Lemon juice condensed milk (the sweet one), and eggs (or just yolks maybe) for filling. Saltine crackers crumbled and mixed with butter for base.

Bake. Chill. Devour. Or daintily eat bits of it with a fork between your dainty fingers and sip milk. Pat your lips dry after each drink with napkin, and admire the fancy goold rimmed saucer the quaint and small slice of lemon pie is sitting on while you chat in between each small morsel of a bite. This is to feel like you are in Victorian England and are part of the richer class. Sitting in your garden overlooking the manors grounds.

Its takes probably 10 minutes to prep. Like 30 or so in oven and then just chill it and fridge it. Few hours later you can tour your imagination set free by the sweet tartness of cool smoothness.

Hmm. Perhaps I share recipe for 80g quest lol

Edit. Hmmm thata desert look much tasty. Buy mine more Victorian era lol

Not really, it’s just filled with tiled people tried of playing HS, I am tiled of HS right now and I haven’t even played it in a day.

Why should we? What does “Adding value to each other” even mean? What does that even look like?

I don’t know what kinda of friends you are making, but I only have zero friend that I know anything about in the slightest in RL, and I do not want to know anything about them in RL, I just want to play HS and sometimes watch them play hS.

Heck no, I am never using this forum as a resource

All my friends on my friend list were added because they tilted me in a game before in some way, I hate all of them with a passion

If you think I am trolling I am not, I honestly don’t think we should take the forums seriously at all nor should we use it as a community building tool

Between you and me, we already show 2 different person with 2 different style.
When we add the other different posters in, then we see even more differences.

One day… One day… You might just find a charming and lovely Eimear* that will change what was spoken today…

Even if you hate your friends in your list with a passion, it is with a fiery Dwarven passion that they are renown for (sometimes it’s becomes a hate-love relationship…it’s complicated)

I also do not think we should take the forum (too) seriously, but I think it is a great platform to build a community.

p.s. This thread is not a “The community is too toxic, people should repent think about their actions to make the perfect Utopia.” crusade posts. :grinning:

There’s a wide chasm between “let’s make the forums a salt-less Utopia” and “hey, maybe don’t be a dick all the time.” If you disagree with either that’s fine, but misrepresenting the post because you’re wearing your Grumpy Man Jenkins pants doesn’t seem fair.

A good lemon pie is one of my few weaknesses. Delicious!

Honestly, I hope whatever has gone wrong for you personally that’s caused you to become so hateful gets better. I’m certainly no saint myself and my history both on this and the old forum proves it, but there’s no reason for us to be nasty to each other when we’re all here for one common thing - a game we (usually) enjoy playing.

I have a much lower PH tolerance in my bloodstream then the rest of you. I like my environment to stay at a lower PH for my to thrive in, too high of a PH may kill me. I am a crab
