Updated Free Deck for New and Returning Players

The decks awarded to new and returning players will be updated on November 12!* So long as you’ve been away for 120 days, you’ll be prompted with the deck grant right after you log in!

As a reminder, here is how it works for new players:

  • Log into Hearthstone and complete the tutorial and the Starter Quest line.
  • You will need to graduate from the New Player Ranks (Ranks 40-1).
  • Upon completing these quests, you will be able to select your free Class Deck once you return to the main menu.

It’s possible you may not see the deck in your deck list if you did not have an open deck slot when you chose your free Class Deck. If this happens, don’t worry! You will still receive all the cards from that deck. If you would like to delete one of your existing decks, you can then navigate back to this page and use our deck list. From here, copy the deck code, and you can then add the deck to your deck list from within Hearthstone.

*Limited one per account. A returning player is defined as one who has not logged into Hearthstone for 120 consecutive days.

Best deck by far is Paladins and funny how you offer a deck for Mage that you just nerfed to the ground .

You have to be a glutton for punishment to pick that deck…

These looks kinda strong.

DH and Paladin are full meta.

Though that Warrior? Why to give players something like that? Isnt bomb warrior kinda like waaaaaaay too superior to that deck?

Priest deck looks like most fun

DH and Pala nice deck… for the new players is so strong

And I logged in too early cuz I already got my free deck after being absent for 2 years…

Paladin deck is strong but meta might change. Guardian druid looks good too.

The program is a nice olive branch for the whiners who blubber that the game is “oppressing them” because the PLAYER quit playing for a while. Derp. Also takes away the lame whiner excuse that new players have to “pay to win”. The “I Quit” Whiners and the P2W Whiners have no excuses now. Bliz is giving them free T1 decks and they even get free dust if they happen to have duplicates. Very generous.

someone could complain that these decks won’t be tier 1 with the next expansion. I’m sure someone will

My personal judgment:

:star2:: hunter, warrior
:star2: :star2:: lock, shaman, mage
:star2: :star2: :star:: priest
:star2: :star2: :star2:: DH, rogue
:star2: :star2: :star2: :star2:: druid
:star2: :star2: :star2: :star2: :star2:: Paladin

*based on: power level, dust value, completeness

Oh - for sure. That is the nature of most human beings though. Give them a gift and they’ll whine about something else first before showing a little gratitude. :slight_smile:

Looks awesome. Wondered where all these legendary decks I’m continuosly facing were coming from.

that’s the problem, it’s generous only for new and returning players while vet players get the middle finger

I thought the argument always was that veteran players didn’t NEED these kinds of things and that it was the newbs and the quitters that needed a leg up. :slight_smile:

well, it’d be fair to reward ALL the players and not just a % of them

Oh - I’d take it if they gave me one to be sure. :slight_smile: But I’ll admit at this point it would just be sauce on the goose for me whereas its an actual goose for newbies and quitters. :slight_smile:

Casual players (which i think most of players are) get hurt the most here. You know not everyone spend 5+ hours daily in the game…

An excuse for what? You don’t need an excuse to dislike a product and stop using it. The so-called “whiners” are the ones who actually left feedback before finally giving up. It’s the silent leavers who have the worst impact on a business.

Calling it “generous” implies they’re doing it out of kindness or charity. They lose no profit from this, they only gain it. It’s purely a business move to try and draw back customers who wouldn’t exist otherwise. Existing players get nothing. Not that it’s a greedy or bad business strategy, it’s a sensible one and mutually beneficial but still not a gift. There’s also the fact that if you left Hearthstone because you dislike the direction of the game itself, a free deck means nothing to you.
