I’m only gonna play bgs. Every other mode is absolute nonsense. Nothing but overpowered gimmick after overpowered gimmick just to sell cards we don’t even get to ACTUALLY own.
Really sucks too because not even a few years ago this game was so fun. Save a stupid mechanic here or there like Reno……but I just can’t keep up as a free to play with limited play time.
I get it, LDP. Okay? I know. Just leave it lol
Idk I’ve been f2p casual forever and I haven’t had a problem
I’ve been free to play since the game released. I never had an issue keeping up until about 2 years ago. Something changed in how they build expansions and they decided to do what everyone else does. Instead of properly balancing what they had they make the new stuff OP so players spend money.
Im honestly surprised the game isn’t at a point where players just pay a set price for legend every month.

People have always complained about balance in HS since 2014. I still have zero problem constructing at least 5-6 meta decks along with a few homebrews. There’s quests and achievs that help you get packs and more rewards on that track thing in the journal. It’s actually really easy
Legend isn’t really a status thing anymore. It’s more of a show of how much you played decently well during a month. Low dust decks are plentiful and very viable to hit legend with.
You’re assuming people have many hours a day to dedicate to playing the game.
The game has been very easy to collect the sets now with the exception of the first two expansions when they released Signature cards. In that small window it was even more trivial because signatures had a much higher drop rate and they figured that out after those two sets dropped. Then they made them extremely rare to drop.
Before they added the Tavern pass you had to pay an extreme amount of money to collect full sets. The one shot small expansion sets early on that gave you all the cards through playing solo missions were the only “gift” players got collecting cards.
I understand it’s easier but it’s still balls.
I play maybe half an hour to an hour every day. Not that much. If I played less, I’d have 2-3 meta approved decks instead of 5-6. Basically what you’re saying is you want everything for free for logging in and playing 10 minutes a week.

Could always have the old system that let you ground for hours upon hours for maybe a single standard pack. That was so much fun.
This game kinda blows if you haven’t been playing for years to have the dust to craft whatever you want. Lately has been 100% a money grab. That isn’t power creep it was bliz going nuclear and making everything cheaper and stronger to force sales or get left behind. It’s only f2p for newish players if you enjoy getting your teeth kicked in by people who used dust or payed to win.
a day? you needs hours per month(unless you meant climbing to top legend)

I honestly believe y’all are exaggerating. I’ve tried doing only dailies. Still took at LEAST an hour a day. Usually more. I MIGHT have gotten lucky a couple times over the years an had quests that lined up perfect so I finished them all in 1 or 2 matches. That almost never happens.
So i wait till ALL of my slots are filled up. then i look at the quests. Look at the requirements. Build a deck that does nothing but fulfill all of those requirements. Que it up and play 3-4 games and finish all of them at once. I could care less if i won or lose i am just playing cards and seeing how far i can go before the loss. Sometimes i even win because i catch player off guard. Takes less than an hour.
Okay so what you do is start at the beginning of a rotation. Buy the Pass and then also buy the pre purchase bundle for the first set of the season. Now play out the pass which an average player can get to about 200-210 on there and amass about 11000 or more in gold.
DUST EVERY EXTRA GOLD CARD. This is the important part. If you want a vanity deck that has a cost to it. Otherwise you always dust the vanity cards. I would say Dust Signatures but generally they are so rare now or are given for free that you can dust the originals and keep those signatures because it’s likely you have 2 already or a legendary one.
Do ALL of the events for packs. Do the weekly brawl for the set pack. Start an Underground Arena run with 2 tickets they give for free. Play it and get to 2 losses. Then stop playing and wait for the arena season update. Then go in and you get the 2 tickets back and the pack rewards for free. Look for bonus packs from twitch streams(IE: Tournaments). Do NOT craft anything you know you will get on the rewards track like Legendary’s and Epics. You can turn duplicate Epics you get to fill in the others over the 4 months of the expansion. Once you have the track mostly done and gotten the free cards from it then craft what you want from your dust but don’t craft anything that isn’t being played or you don’t want to play.
Between the bundle and the pass by the time you get to the next set you should have a full set of the expansion.
From this point at the start of each expansion you should have at minimum 10000 gold and can buy 100 packs and then you buy only the pass for the new set. Between those packs you get with gold and all the free cards and packs the pass gives you. You should have anywhere between 75-90% of the cards. Mostly you will be missing legendary’s and a few epics. Now you choose with all the dust you have which cards you want to craft to play that you might be missing or if you don’t then by the time the next set rolls around all the free stuff and reward track items you should fill in the missing cards.
A year later you have that entire seasons cards and they will roll into the next seasons with a full standard collection.
Obviously save your catchup packs and standard packs to open after you have most of the new set stuff so that when you open those packs as a new player they are giving you the previous seasons set cards. Resist the urge to just blow your dust on something that “looks cool” or you will run low on dust for what you really want. Be more focused that first season concentrate on getting better at the game with 1-3 decks.

I’m obviously not as good or educated in the game as you are. Besides, say I did do that and I just lose my way through dailies. What’s the point? To get a deck that’ll just become obsolete in a couple months? If not sooner. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me. To you and many others it’s totally worth it and I’m not hating on that. I’m just getting over it as a longtime player. I’ve watched the game go from super simple to truly one of the greatest CCGs I’ve ever seen to a power creep microtransaction filled mess.
I played few hours per month during last months and I still have no problems with anything. Wait, I missed getting some hero skins of the reward tracks during events, but they were ugly anyway.

I never said i was better. I am just sharing my strategies on both subjects talked about. Hopefully it helps players achieve their goals faster and easier.
