The next patch looks pretty good

Toning down the aggressive decks, brining up warriors/paladins/blood dks.

Very excited for the next patch

I haven’t looked into it. Are there any changes to Frost DK I should know about? I’m loving this deck.

Yeah Glacial Advance is getting nerfed. Not really a surprise 1 mana deal 4 is pretty powerful

Huh? It’s 3 mana. /characters

3 mana discount next spell by 2 so net 1 mana

Laughs in Ramp Druid/Phylactery Warlock

Rock Paper Scissors Stone anyone?

The nerfs are good but buffs miss the mark by a wide margin for me. It will just go back to the decks that were good before this expansion. Plus maybe Blood DK, but that kind of Resident sleeper deck is the sort of deck you either love or hate.
My feeling is this patch will divide the community as much as any of them.

Well, yeah, if you’re lucky enough to have both in-hand. That’s definitely not always the case, and so it’s not very honest to claim it’s 1 mana.

Only DK buffs were to Unholy cards?

It’s not hard for Frost DK to have a second spell in hand…? As long as you follow it with a spell, which the deck is all about, it’s effectively a 1-mana card.

I mean it in terms of being a non initial buff.

It is misleading to call it a 1 mana card. It is not. The discount it provides, for the next spell used that turn, does not make it any more nor less than 3 mana.

As long as you have a spell that costs 2 mana or more, it’s effectively 1 mana.

Kinda irrelevant, but Boneguard is getting buffed.

I’m… are you being super obtuse on purpose?

If I play Glacial Advance, and then follow it up with a Defrost. I spent 0 mana on a card that costs 2 mana. The Glacial Advance effectively cost me 1 mana since it gave me the mana discount on defrost.

I didn’t mean a direct buff for the blood dks.

Since I am so fed up with this meta and can’t stand it any longer, I have been tanking my rank with a little bit of post-patch theory crafting. Since I have a bit of a hunch of exactly what the changes will bee thanks to a sorely missed forum regular, I wanted to be prepared and see whether the buffs make sense at all.

My (premature) conclusion is that they won’t be really impactful. Undead priest might become a bit more solid now; but considering minelock, ramp druid or evolve shaman could be some of the biggest winners coming out of the patch; I feel like the real buff will be to plaguespreader priests. Warlock buffs and DK buffs seem a bit irrelevant and I don’t see how undead aggro druid could take advantage of the wither buff without stronger neutral undead 1-2 drops. Casino mage is still none sense. The warrior buffs, however, have me a bit more puzzled. I have been trying to work out a (sort of) midrange taunt warrior deck with mixed but surprisingly fun results, even in this meta. Here’s the list I have for now, I would really appreciate any feedback to improve it (keeping in mind the upcoming buffs). I can say for sure, a double stats Remornia is MAD.

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

The card does usually discount, though sometimes you have to use it sub optimally, that is the downside. The deck struggles to get on board and early on the deck can struggle to clear certain boards, so it can be a little bit of a puzzle knowing which pieces to hold back for your lethal, you basically need a whole hand of spells to threaten lethal and a lot of the spells are on the very fair/mediocre side to the point where frost dk is not going to be playable after the patch.

I think going forward that leaves frost DK in a pretty sad place for the next few expansions because it has a reliance to generate several of this single spell from discovery. The discovery is already a bit tough given that several of the unholy and blood options don’t really benefit your game plan.

The more and more I look at the next patch it really depends on if they “kill” miracle rogue and DH, if the meta will consist of beast hunter, pure paladin, big spell mage then this is not really a meta I am interested in playing, even the targeted buffs don’t really inspire anything worth playing.

Cool list, looks pretty fun. Sadly I think they’ve gone completely the wrong direction with Warrior buffs. Control isn’t going to be a thing, they should have given Enrage that little bit more juice it needed to be a real force.

Yeep, this is my fear too. The nerf to lethality across the board compensates hard for the Renethal nerf, so we’re basically going back to whatever was good before the Renethal nerf, with the exception of DH because they’ve been butchered. Who the hell wants to play 12 month old decks?

It’s not really my issue that the decks are old, it’s just that they are all basically zoo in one shape or another, even the BSM is very minion heavy. I never even really played these decks when they were new aside from the beast hunter.

yeah your bs deck is getting rightfuly nerfed, becasue it’s auto play deck vs most borad decks.
