You can beat them as a Rainbow Mage. Won several games against Wheel Warlocks over the last days.

If you make a deck to specifically beat a deck that people paid money to create to get the cards or what not, you won’t be matched up against it.
I have played since the game came out, and this is just the way it is.
The game looks at your deck and the opponent’s deck before it makes matches.
It won’t match you against a deck you specifically designed your deck to destroy.
I learned this early on when druid emerald golems were first came out. All I would get are emerald golems and lose every game.
So I made an anti emerald golem deck by putting two geists in my deck, which would 100% destroy that build.
Those two high-cost geist cards became dead weight because the Algo quit putting me up against druid emerald golems after I put them in my deck and the cards became a burden.
It curates the opponents which is actually rigging.

Exactly, I learned this too when returned to the game after many years left… and started to build decks… didn’t even know what meta means at that time because there were no such thing when I have left the game. 
I just started to build my own decks and realized I was crushed by mages too easily and met a lot… after I have modified my deck against mages heavily, didn’t meet any suddenly. And ppl. still believe the MM is not controlled… no it is not… it is just your luck! They say… yeah right! Ppl. should open their eyes… this is the way how the game block their progress… and now since the RNG controlls everything… it is more easy than ever to do that… accept that and move on, or stop playing. This wouldn’t be a problem… but atleast they could tell us honestly. You are forced to have about 50% win and thats it… you can’t do anything about it because skill means nothing compared to RNG now which is winning the game for you if it wants and force the opponent to lose with 0 chance. THIS is the game now we are playing and they want us to pay money for this… 0 chance? 0 money… thank you… (Of course you don’t need to believe me… I am just a Paladin with nearly 8000 wins and got about 7500 out of it in the last 3 years maybe with my own decks… ) Before these controlled randomity, OTK, endless board clears, hand manipulation appeared in the game, I could win 9 games in one row with my decks, not meta… that was my best result by the way… but since these unfair mechanics showed up, never won more than 4 matches in one row… The game is more controlled that ever… skills means nothing anymore when the RNG wants you to lose… then you will… and this is just disgusting… I have nothing more to say…
