I just feel that for Brawl’s that make you build a deck, you should have a full collection to pick from. It’d make me want to play the brawl more, I really don’t think many are gonna be crafting cards for the Brawl and just play it for the pack. Though some of the deck building brawls are really fun, and it’d have more replay value to have a full collection to choose from.
There a few things you might be overlooking at this type of thing.
1st of all while having all the collection unlock might aid new players, it makes players who been playing for a longtime just dustin’ cards have no draw back if they held on a card for brawls only type of cards that might not see stander play.
It also would cause a meta be made and remain always ‘there’ - look at wild decks for example, if we had the collection unlock to everyone, the wild Deck would just be the “main deck” to play in brawls that uses all cards, and not causing someone to maybe revisit old content and “buy” it business standpoint
this also cause brawls to be less fun cause if brawls had all cards unlock, ofc everyone would just use the same deck and cause some brawls that causes strange and oddity decks be made.
So statements like
Will become “everyone using the same decks in Stander/Wild why do we even have brawls?”
You have to look at this on the double edge sword and not just the handles side to understand the value brawl gives.
Not to mention it rewards player who didn’t dust all their ‘bad’ cards just to use in brawl only things. This would give no reason for someone to keep it normally or specialize a Deck style, like I do Druid Deck, and own all Druid cards before other classes just for brawls sake I have a sprinkle of other classes to make odd stupid decks that work.
DId a second Tavern Brawl after getting beat by old school Pirates.
Hunter Razomrmaw deck but that’s not what killed me.
What killed me was AI Routine Card generation.
I am owning the board Hunter vs Hunter. But turn 3 the Hunter plays Animal Companion. You know that card thats always there.
Hunter got Huffer. Of course. Since I had a taunt took my chance at race to face.
Next turn that Hunter casts Dire Frenzy on his Huffer. Yep, typical turn 4 card, now it doesn’t die to the taunt. But I still own the board and kill his uber Huffer.
Now the hunter plays Echo hounds. Yeah, okay but its not game breaking, I still own the board.
Next the Hunter plays Unleash the Hounds! And there it is. The Reliable AI Routine card dealing system. Six cards off the top and got every card needed to counter what I was doing and boards are to zero each.
Hunters next card? One of those 3 in 24 Huffers which I can get rid of s my board empty and next turn thee old Houndmaster.
Yep. AI sub “routine” vs AI sub “routine” play.
I’ll just ignore the weird half-baked conspiracy theories and point it the your opponent’s deck seems pretty unimaginative and not very good.
Hunting Mastiff isn’t even good enough to make the cut in Standard beast hunter but homeboy decided to put in into his anything goes tavern brawl deck?
Hooked Reavers are Back along with other fun joyous cards.
Doomguard. Yay, I love Doomguards. sarcasm
Potions that deal 5 damage to all characters. Joy.
So this weeks Tavern Brawl is Wild format. Yay, lucky new players.
Death Knights are back. More joy DK Rexxar.
Team 5 Epic Fail again.
Brawls have requirements and conditions, special stuff, like this one. And of course, some Brawls don’t require you make a deck.
Me, like many others, believe dust is more important than variety in a Brawl we’ll see once in 6 months. Brawls aren’t enough incentive to keep my old cards when I need the dust for other stuff.
Maybe you understood what I said wrong? I meant that when building decks in Tavern Brawl, I should be able to pick from a full collection of cards, instead of mine.
and i don’t need repeat myself
this is what its like during brawls that let people use meta decks like brawlism and look how many people complain how they see the same decks they do in stander.
Party of the beauty of brawls is the lack of cards to do something odd that might and that is something that would be gone from a “here a free collection to use”
Brawls are a means to break away from meta generally with something strange, and if everyone had the same cards after the 1st day brawls become stale if a meta is made which is why things like brawlism get as much hate as it does even tho it’s a free chance to win tons of gold/pack 1st run. Cause someone would run meta with win chance over doing something different.
but maybe i should use your own words.
Shamans are looking like the class to beat, if they play it properly, they are unstoppable. Underbelly Angler and other synergies.
When I first saw this brawl I put in a mix of Elemental, Pirate, and Mech synergies, with the signature destroyers Golakka Crawler and Hungry Crab. Playing Mage. Then I’d see a card someone else using and I’d put it in. Any card that can destroy one of your opponent’s is potentially very powerful and one to beat. Also cards that summon multiple minions.
Brawlisium doesn’t have any quirks or differences. I don’t see anybody complaining about it. The most complaining done with it is that it took place so close to SoU last time.
FTFY
With a special condition, the meta can’t fully form like you say it would. People do DO have entire collections anyways for build-a-deck brawls find out what’s best anyways, it’s not like some people don’t.
And the wording of your first post was pretty poor and sounded like you meant completely different. Still, you miss the point.
you sure? Cause I see it allot when it pop up. Now u might write them off as trolls or 1 time posters but you do see comments like this time to time, and there could be truth for comments like this
You really think that? There been brawl decks made all the time “best deck for X brawl”
Think i’m lying? Here some insight of the current brawl
https://www.hearthstonetopdecks.com/tavern-brawl-the-great-amalgamation/
Looks like a Meta with tips and tricks around how to play the brawl is made all the time.
Just a snipit from their thing with is really showing how strong cards are
- At the same time, all of the “hate” cards like [ Hungry Crab ] or [ Golakka Crawler ] also work on every single minion your opponent plays, so definitely add those!
There’s always opposing opinions but there’s bigger things to worry about than very few people complaining about it. I don’t think there’s riots over it.
E X A C T L Y
So why can’t I just play that deck instead of just getting lucky and happening to have those cards? That would just encourage me to go in there and quickly get my pack and never play again. If so many people play the best deck because they can just make the list, that encourages counters, then counters to that counter, etc. It creates it’s own little volatile meta! One not settled like ours is. (Ours isn’t even really settled)
The other side of this coin is that it punishes those of us who typically play the standard game only and regularly dust the cards as they move into wild. Brawls like this will require the crafting of wild cards in order to make a competitive deck. I don’t like that. But that just means that this Brawl is not for me. And that’s ok. However, I still want to get my weekly Classic Pack, so the result for me is that I have to resort to the awkward gaming of the system where I play against myself with an alt account. Personally, I don’t enjoy that, and I don’t think that’s good for the game overall.
Because you had made a mistake underestimating value of “collection” part of this game and now must pay for it.
So does anyone know if it is all wild brawls or just some that give you the option to use complete my deck and give you all the wild cards you don’t actually have?
I haven’t heard anything about this? I don’t think it’s a feature.
It was a feature for that brawl where they brpught back cthun and jade strategy at least…
i can not agree more, for every brawl every person should have every card, lets face it hearthstone is effected far more by the cards you have then any amount of skill. and the attitude that it is not clearly come from people with bigger collections, i wonder why…
So a couple months ago we had “Brawl Block: Old Gods, Gadgetzan, and Gurubashi” where supposedly: (quoted from Hearthstone top decks) “* If you don’t own enough cards from those expansions, you just need to add one and the deck will auto-fill the rest with the cards you don’t own. Which means that all you need to play it is a single common from any of those expansions (although since Rastakhan’s Rumble is one of the recent Standard expansions and we’ve got many packs from it for free, it shouldn’t be an issue for most of players).”
A general practice of this where you don’t even need that one common might help new players a lot… I dont think players with the old cards would be especially frustrated by this feature
use your own words for the side i’m defending.
I think you miss the point of what CCG means.
What does CCG stand for? Collectable Card Game. Now what is it call when you hoard cards? A collection, and you are rewarded for collecting them. I never had to ‘dust’ cards from old expansion for my 1 true class i dedicate myself to. If I didn’t do just “Druid” I would have a spread from each class making stuff like this viable.
Allot of I’s and not enough “The Community”
If u let it auto make you a deck, it will use wild cards you own, but if your talking about using Whizbang or something, you only get stander decks.
I don’t really get the whole “give you all the wild cards” But I can say it only uses cards you own.
That was also something they said they were giving a try, there was a bug abuse someone found for dust, and disable it near the end, haven’t heard much about it after, but right now it uses cards you own as far I can tell from ‘testing atm’ it keep making classes I don’t own allot of cards use other cards I do own.
Oh wow cool! Did they get to keep the dust?? Lucky accident!.. Still wouldn’t mind it being a build your own tavern brawl deck option if they can fix it
