i have seen this happen to not only me but other players as well, because lets be honest who would cast a fireball onto their own creatures in an arena match. in my last game of hearthstone i was at a key point for a board state, i lined up my fireball onto their taunt minion and it cast it instead on my spellburst minion. it cost me the game within a turn because not only did my spellburst not go off but i killed my own minion with a fireball…
was your minion attacking when you cast the spell? when attacking a minion actually moves on the board so if you dont pay attention you can manage to target your own attacking minion (or even hero)

Did this happen on mobile, or desktop?
it was on the mobile application. i have screen shots of it on my phone
My only explanation is that the mobile interface is less precise than a mouse, and unfortunately it is much easier to cast a spell on the wrong target by accident.
In this case I don’t think a screenshot would help, because it can’t show what you intended to happen, only what did happen, which is not in dispute.
