There are many effects that cause the spellburst icon to disapppear. This is a visual bug only; the spellburst will still work if activated. See Known Issue List 2020 - Updated Aug 18th - #4 by Aelathera
Was it this known visual bug in your case, or did you cast a spell without the Spellburst effect triggering?

I was not able to witness the mechanics after the icon disappeared. The spellburst minion died before I could cast a spell.
So this might be the visual bug, that is already listed. Thanks for the insight.
