So sad Blizz about latest event

This new event sure is trying to PUSH players into the 2 worst game modes in your entire game right now. (Arena and Battlegrounds)…

Arena is full of cheaters and Battlegrounds is just plain broken.

But thanks for the free packs because I just make a deck and retire never letting anyone play against me.

what kind of cheaters ?

I wouldn’t even do this event if it wasn’t for the free dust and the new hero portraits. I have zero interest in battlegrounds or arena

Looked at today’s event daily "take 20 turns in Arena or Battlegrounds " Noooope, reroll “Trigger 15 Deathrattles in Arena or Battlegrounds” thanks Blizz, looks like I’m skipping the event daily today. There’s a reason I never installed Battlegrounds mode, them pushing it on me isn’t going to change my mind

BG is inside HS, can you actually chose not to install it ?

They are not pushing on you, it’s an event dedicated to the new BG season and new arena mode

Arena is plagued with barcode accounts, which are bot accounts that were used to farm gold to draft Arena runs. Bad drafts or accounts are discarded until a god-draft is obtained and then sold to someone for cheap to be used to stomp others in Arena.

I would estimate that about 40 percent of my Arena matches of late are against barcode accounts. I have had a handful of drafts over the last two weeks, where I have gone 6-0 or 7-0 on a run before loosing three matches in row to the kind of powerful decks that one might only obtain in 1 out 50 to 1 out of 100 or more drafts attempts.

Here is a screenshot of a recent Druid draft deck that went 7-0 before taking three consecutive losses:

I “effectively” said no such thing. In a game where RNG is nearly as big of a factor as skill in determining wins, losses are common for everyone, regardless of which PvP mode is played.

Carnivore, you really need to work on yourself while worrying less about others.

I don’t care about your ad hominems. Your entire point was that’s “it’s rare drafting THEREFORE they’re barcoding”.

Rare drafting means rare and it does not mean impossible.

PS in fact it’s EXPECTED to see rare (and legitimate) drafting after a lot of wins. That’s because only then you’ll get the highest win rate opponents …and those might have some rare drafts.

If that was really the case the changes would of already be here and those changes wont help

ROFL you do not even know what that word means…

On a fresh install of HS you have to manually select to download the other modes, I just didn’t bother downloading battlegrounds or mercenaries, haven’t had a crash yet.

He means on mobile devices I think. I haven’t installed Hearthstone recently on either PC or mobile but I remember reading that they were making Battlegrounds and Mercenaries optional downloads on mobile devices to save space.

I’m so tired of the events having the main quests time-gated. I would like to start on the next quest now, and not have to wait four days until it unlocks. I can guarantee that I have time to play NOW, I can’t guarantee I have that time to play next week.

Every new event that we get I keep hoping they’ll have reverted that. I know some people suggest waiting until the last week to just go through them all, again, I can’t always guarantee I’ll have time during the final week of the event. I prefer to work through the event as early as is reasonably possible so I don’t run the risk of not being able to finish it.

I know right… god forbid Blizzard try and promotes the other fun game modes outside of constructive. How dare they.

Absolutely.

I would guesstimate that during my first 5 matches that around 40 percent of my opponents are typically barcoders. Once a player goes above 5 wins that percent goes higher.

I have been paying attention to barcode accounts since year one of Hearthstone, but I only talked about them for the last few years.

It’s interesting that a barcode jail was created, but even so, I do not feel insulated or protected against barcoders, even though I rarely retire a run early, which must mean that barcode sellers have found a way to produce a product or draft that is not flagged as a barcode account. So what does this mean? How do they accomplish this? I don’t think a lot of them are conceding games instead of retiring runs to avoided barcode jail, because players would encounter a lot more games that are conceded early or opponents that seem to be AFK than I tend to encounter. So my guess is that it takes more than a few retired runs before one ends up in barcode jail (if it even really exists) or the bot account is just abandoned before even being sold, if it takes too many retired drafts to obtain a god-draft.

It’s possible that they may eventually have to take away the retire option to address the problem of barcoders.

The ironing.

Dunno about BGs, don’t play them, but as for Arena… I was about to say something, but since you’ve already made a topic, I suppose I’ll post it here.

I think the plan was for the event to coincide with the new Arena, the latter having been delayed, but the timing for former remaining the same — a negligence, probably, or a limitation of their schedule system, but whatever the reason, it has turned out that those who aren’t into BGs are pushed to play the old, horrible Arena, which… isn’t fun at all.

I’ve been seriously considering giving up on the event in question or maybe even on the game altogether because of this, which probably would be a good thing to do, although I suppose fallacies like ‘gotta finish the expansion track (some other event or whatnot)’ and other tricks like that might keep me from it for a while.

Ugh, that sh… again. :man_facepalming:

As Americans would put it, it really gets old —

(in this case, the forum part in particular).

I suppose someone’s answering them is the pinnacle of their dubious… ‘career’ and the greatest achievement in their pointless life.

Nice attempt, but I’m afraid it’s yet another wasted effort. :grinning:

I suppose I might as well re-post this:

Neither do I, for example:

Not necessarily in the context of retiring, more on this below.

First, just because Blizzard said they’d implemented such a system, doesn’t mean it’s actually working properly — or at all. :grinning:

Second, I don’t know where the notion that barcode accounts retire often comes from. Some say it’s bots farming resources for a ‘perfect’ draft, but aren’t they at risk of being banned eventually anyway? I’ve thought that the very point of so-called barcode accounts is that they are temporary, disposable, one-off — not meant to accumulate a lot of resources. So, why couldn’t it be that they are simply created (in great numbers), enter the Arena and are either abandoned or sold for those runs? In such a theoretical scenario (I dunno the particulars of what actually happens), that separate pool, even if properly implemented, would do nothing to thwart those ‘barcodes’.

PS

 Indeed, as discussed above.

Honestly i love the event i dont even think battlegrounds is that bad
