They are changing Echo to prevent the Echoes from going down to 0 mana.
More than anything, this is a Glinda nerf. Since she will never be able to do crazy combos of any sort in the future.
Question: Unstable Evolution. It’s technically not an Echo card, but if you played the card you have probably been able to pull off crazy stuff getting Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

My guess it will be untouched because it doesn’t have the Echo keyword, same as that other shaman healing spell
I was genuinely worried that we’d have to deal with 3+ weeks of more Sn1plock in Wild before the DoD balance patch came (if they deemed it nerf-worthy at that point). Now that deck is dead, and to top if off I can dust the Glinda I’ve never used for a free Legendary from DoD?
Feels like an early Christmas!

Well, I can still play my Lackey Warlock with Glinda in it like normal. I like to play 1-mana 4/4 Lackeys repeatedly with Glinda.
That’s really the only thing she is any good for in Standard anyway. Wild is another story, of course.

I’m not sure if it’ll kill the deck but it does reduce it’s power level and makes the deck more like the other mech decks overall.
Happy for the change =)

Good, this kind of broken thing should not exist in the first place.

I’ll just say, I’m glad I finally got around to earning my old adventure cardbacks (Karazhan, etc). I used broken echo interactions to take down a few of those tougher bosses.
It 100% kills it.
Because it dedicates a good portion to cycle, and another portion to Stalling removals that other Mech decks don’t in order to pull off its 3 combos (Glinda, SN1P, and Mecha’Thun); whereas other Mech decks fight for early board and generally lose once wiped by opponent’s tempo (Shaman is particularly crippling to Mech decks).

What does Mogu have to do with this?
Glinda is also good for OTK Mogu Cultist, and also does not have 0 mana echoes so is unaffected by this change. But… with the impending removal of Emperor Thaurissan, getting to play 2 Ra-Dens in a turn for that 40 damage burst will no longer be reliable, it’ll now be a crapshoot on whether your quest hero power lands on a combo piece or two or not. Just manage to get 2 mana discount on the combo all up and you’re golden…
Well, unless DoD has some cards that supports the combo anyway

Mogu-lock is still a combo which resolves around Glinda;
Well, what Hezz said.

In Wild they were using discounts on the Exhoes by playing Generous Mummy and Treachery.
That’s no longer possible and a nerf for that too.

Well, I am glad those kinds of shenanigans are fixed, though I was more pointing out that Glinda still has a combo in Standard unaffected by this. But yeah, Wild is a crazy place, and while I’ve never played there and thus never vsed the likes of Snip Snap lock… it isn’t hard to imagine how frightfully op and highrolly that deck is, and should never have happened.
The worst I have to deal with right now is on curve rabbits and evolve…thats nothing compared to instantly dieing because you couldn’t kill one mech on, what was it? Turn 4?
RIP Glinda + 6 Sea Giants.
RIP Glinda + 6 Rabble Bouncers.
RIP Glinda + 6 Wisps.
Make Jumbo Imp playable now.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
This disease has finally been cured, this is great!
Please be faster next time though, Blizz-chan.
It’s about damn time.
Couldn’t let priests do it right off the bat and insta-hot fixed but they let warlocks get away with it for months.
I don’t understand why it took this long.

My thought is the core premise of the deck might reform around a more Zoo synergy. You could be right though
Now I’m starting to think they HAD to do this change because of the new minion that gives your mechs stealth.
Warlock would have been near unstoppable in wild with that.
Makes the combo more OTK than TTK
