Sands of Time Being Unavailable Breaks Competitive Integrity

This is honestly ridiculous at this point.

How is Sands of Time STILL unobtainable? You’ve effectively locked one of the most important cards in multiple core decks behind nothing. Not skill, not effort, not even money — just pure inaccessibility. Meanwhile, players who already have it are freely using it, gaining a clear advantage, and the rest of us are just supposed to sit here and wait?

Wait for what exactly? An update with no date? No timeline? No communication?

This isn’t just an inconvenience — it completely undermines competitive integrity. You’re allowing a card to exist in the meta that a large portion of the player base literally cannot obtain. That’s not balance, that’s negligence.

And what makes it worse is the silence. No clear explanation, no urgency, no accountability. Just a vague “it’s coming” while the ladder continues to be shaped by a card we’re locked out of.

People are noticing this. It’s not just me — more and more players are calling this out because it feels incredibly unfair and poorly handled. If a card is going to be this impactful, it should be accessible. Period.

Either remove it from play until everyone can get it, or make it obtainable immediately. Leaving it like this is unacceptable.

How did those players who have it gain it? What was the special event in question?

i think last expansion event or something, but they are using it as we speak, yet for most of us its locked until who knows when

Says until patch 35.2. and we’re now at, what, 35.0.something?

That’s like a new expansion or something, lol

yeah we are like 35.0.2 so at this point its like people are using cards no one can obtain like its some sort of mmo rpg

I’m ngl I’m totally against those stuff

Blizz punishing players for taking a break from one of their games, what else is new?

It was a special Chromie event in February of this year. It SHOULD have been in the store to pickup for free after the event when there was an error and everyone didn’t get it in the following patch after the event who didn’t complete the event. For some reason they still haven’t given to everyone and it’s ridiculous because the card is a power house in multiple decks.

They’re basically testing the waters

What happens if we start locking cards behind a paywall or playwall?

Do we lose players? Do we lose money, or do we gain money?

That would be highly unfortunate.

No, it won’t, and the damage has already been done

There’s nothing to defend here, some people have access to a card that most don’t, what’s to defend there?

Or you’re just looking to be put on Ignore? What is it

It’s the first patch after the event ends and we have had THREE major patches and numerous smaller patches for them to be added and it wasn’t. They say it’s going to be the BG patch coming up but they said that about the last 2 patches so we will see.

So players who didn’t bother to play during the event and finish the free track of free fun bonus free loots are somehow “damaged” because they don’t have access to the thing they didn’t bother to get?

I mean, maybe if someone was a new player, fine, but you can’t yell at your neighbor for eating a sandwich because you didn’t bother to go to the store.

It will come and if you are upset you don’t have it yet, maybe try to play the events and get it on time.

I have no issues with this or the delay to give it to the skippers who skipped the event.

I’ll say it again, Blizzard punishing players for taking a break.

What is the point in giving away free decks for returning players if you’re going to punish them by holding back cards from them?

I didnt get the card because I wasn’t playing when the event was live, not because I ignored it

And not that it makes any difference. You’re simply wrong on this one.

The two things are functionally identical.

If you missed it, you missed it.

Why would anyone jump through the hoops if you can just wait a couple days and have the same outcome?’

No, I’m not an entitled brat who thinks I’m owed everything instantly.

I am not wrong, I am someone who respects the process.

It’s not a “couple of days”, it’s been weeks, and by the looks of it, it’ll be more

Since this is precedent, there was no such a process. You’re not respecting a process, you’re trying to cope with cognitive dissonance in your mind because you know you’re wrong and it makes you feel less good to use that card now

So what? You didn’t play the game when it was here, you don’t get it. Deal with it.

The process was the event. You followed the event to get the card. You didn’t do that, you didn’t get it.

This is not the correct term. I am not in a Blizzard cult. My stance here is not unique to this game.

Hilariously, I have never used it. I had to go look at my collection to see if I had it.

It’s not about the card, it’s about people feeling entitled to things they didn’t do anything to earn.
