Returning to HS after 6 years.... what is happening?!

Feeling the need to return to a beloved game. Looked up some cards, tried to understand the decks, tried a few of them. And what can I say?

I have no idea what I am supposed to do. Not because I dont understand what certain cards do or what my deck does. But what am I supposed to play around? How do I interact with my opponents if I have 0 chance to influence anything they do? Its not against every deck, but I actually enjoyed playing against aggro decks more than control decks and that has never been the case for me. I am absolutely fine with the basic randomness of HS and I know its been a debate since the game was released.

But I never felt more disconnected from playing against my opponent than right now. Whenever I play against imbue rogues, apart from ‘‘enjoying’’ them deja-vuing my hand without any downside whatsoever, I just black out since they can suddenly play any minion in the game.

And another thing: I know Blizzard never cared for their players and they never will. But they certainly care for money. So my question is: do you get enough players to buy your cards when you gotta spend like 500 dollars to access all of them, if you start anew or return like me? Like wtf.

You should be able to pick a free deck to play as a returning player.

Also there will be a new rotation soon. 3 expansions will be moved to Wild which will change the current meta in a big way.

What’s your problem with other decks than imbue rogue then ?
What decks have you seen ? Because a lot of them have a clear plan with no or little random generation, so just learning what they try to do should let you know what you should do to play against them

Paladin either imbue or aggro has a clear plan
Warrior either dragon or quest has a clear plan
Discover hunter has a clear plan, its random generation is very limited
Shaman has a clear plan
Azshara and Owlonius druid has a clear plan
Cycle rogue has a clear plan
Even Protoss mage has a clear plan despite its few random generations
