Reno is by far the worst explorer

Not close right? At the very least, his starting decks are hot garbage, and his buckets seem worse (although the buckets in this adventure are mostly trash anyway) than all the other classes. I wonder how much they actually playtested this honestly. Because after playing it, there are some serious flaws with Reno (or the whole adventure really) that make me wonder if they spent almost any time playtesting and looking for feedback.

reno is the worst but it is close. He has quite a few decks and builds that are quite good including some that make the last boss a breeze.

Just since you cant find a good way to use him dosen’t make him bad only that hes not suited to you.

ITs not a night and day diff in power level between 2 of the others. Finly on the other hand is in a class of his own with everything snergising so well. So if anyone stands out above the others its fin needing a power reduce not reno needing a buff.

There is some flaws with the adventure there always is such as like the other adventures having to reroll a ton to even see tresures you want to try. While bobs decks are a flaw of being a pain to even try if you want to try them to the point of it can take 100s of games to see them.

Renos power level thou is not a flaw. Hes quite balanced and able to win. Even on heroic have no issue winning with him and have cleared heroic all wings with all heroes.

Comes down to not all heroes and classes are made for everyone. IF you are having issues with him vs another just means the others suit you more. That is not a flaw that is making content for everyone as many like the OTK and casino mage style that is reno.

Funny how I actually find Reno the strongest and my favourite to play. I actually find Finley the worst and hate playing him the most. To each their own.

Yep exactly my point about playstyle being a large factor. Thou reno seams to be in general agreed to be the worst. Likly since the playstyle he has is a little more rng based so people tend to not like it as much.

To OP, a general advice on playing Reno. Most of his treasures are his win condition. So, you should build your deck and choose treasures that support your starting treasure. I.E choose card draw, defensive spells. You don’t need to pick value or big minions in your buckets. Reno as a Rogue/Mage have very good card draw and defensive options to choose from.

I like Reno. He is the first I got all the way through on Heroic.

Reno is strong with lei flamepaw.

get multiples of him and starting hand in the tavern then its overpowered even with rubbish other treasues.
Rught set up and you can do turn 1 finish.

I finished chapter 5 with all Brann treasures, 3 Reno’s and just two of Finley and Elise. It doesn’t matter how powerful treasures and buckets are, it’s 50:50 your skill and luck.

If your believe chap 5 is 50/50 skill/luck your plan going in is just bad. There have been guides posted already on how to win >90% of the time even with few of the treasures unlocked. Given such a high rate can be gotten its far more than 50/50 skill. Yes luck is a factor as it always is in hearthstone by no where near 50% on chap 5. Its at best 10% assuming you are going in with a good plan which by def is skill (your plan).

You are not wrong, he is so trash, Ive yet to beat a boss with him, and Ive finished it with the other 3 heroes. So I started trying his random decks and they are either waaaaay better or my luck must be only good when picking random decks with him. I tried to post a link to a screen shot of my deck maybe it will work.
nvm this forum is derp cant post links or pictures lol lame.

Reno Tombdiver is the most OP card there is. If you can upgrade his Tombdiver to SR, he can solo any of the plague lord.

Being able to solo all the plague lords is not something that makes him stand out or even makes his equal to the others as all of them are able to solo all the plague lords with the right build.

Perhaps, but the Jr Tombdiver is horrible. I have yet been able to get her active once.

I found a very strong combo for Reno. Elixir of Vim and Elixir of Vigor. Get Pogo Hoppers, they become huge very quickly.

She becomes better when you beat every plague with Reno.
Then you only need to play 3 secrets.

Just beat Tombs on heroic. I cleared 3/4 bosses using Reno exclusively… mainly due to the fact that I enjoyed his “arcane craftiness” hero power. I had all of Reno’s treasures, but only used his lasso. I had maybe 4 of Finley’s and Brann’s treasures, and 2 of Elise’s treasures.

On the final Tekahn fight, I found Finley’s mount (Maxwell) to be the only useful treasure in that entire fight. Any treasure Weapon I equipped was usually eliminated by a tech card, and I didn’t see a jr./sr. explorer once. I’d argue that choosing the right character, and right hero power for each phase of the fight is more important.

Those two when combined are strong for all the heroes and chapters. Elixir of Vim tends to be a strong Treasure even alone (except against Plague Lord of Death), but Vigor really needs Vim to not bloat your deck with low impact cards every match.

For what its worth, I just soloed Tekkan with Reno. I copied Lei Flamepaw with the shadows that automatically cast and used his torch at least 12 times. Discovering some useful spells with arcane conjurer helped too

I found Alchemist’s Stone and Darklight Torch to be a great treasure combo for Reno. Especially with his Combo HP. I used it to ping the Murloc Plague Lord to death.
