But, what are relics? What’s your speculation?
the queen has 4 relics
Those are specifically stated to not work:
awww
well lets hope they are just as much fun
Probably a libram like mechanic.
For what it’s worth, those are “Ancient Relics.” Apparently, these are different somehow.
They are too old to be double cast!
Well DH is the newest class. As in, they’re zoomers who don’t care for the old stuff.
(well, they might miss how you used to be able to afford college or even buying a house on a student’s wages, but let’s not open that can of political worms lolololol)
Just like how Grand Lackey Erkh isn’t a Lackey despite it clearly being in the name.
Classic blizzard move: they don’t reuse old keywords because they are confusing, but they call two different standard mechanics in a similar way.
Can’t wait for a new murloc that consumes an enemy minion, instead of eating or devouring it
I think the relics are all in the maw. The vault will be soooo powerful once the mini-set hits.
I assume the relics are some demon hunter spells in the set.
The relics give you the choice between giving a minion Icefury, Slither, or Abuse
I thought Abuse was a Warlock thing.
The Relic is a movie from 1997 never saw it didn’t look great.
They are out, if you are interested
(I haven’t seen a thread about it yet)
I saw it back when it came out on video. It was very forgettable. Rampaging alien/ancient monster/cursed creature (can’t remember which) in a museum. Had a few well known actors tossed in, but no A-listers. The cast wasn’t terrible, but the script sank the ship.
Thanks! As a Demon Hunter lover, I’m excited for these new cards. I wonder if they count as spells?
I’m guessing they’re spells (similarly to how the sigils were spells). I’m curious how they improve.
i’d say that the ones revealed probably go as:
increase discount by 1 (else it could increase draw by 1, but i dont think so)
increase stats by 1/1
increase damage by 1
so, if you’ve played 3 relics already as an example, it would be:
“5 mana draw 2, reduce their cost by 4”
“3 mana summon 2 4/4s”
“2 mana deal 4 damage to a random creature twice”
they do look really slow though.
the 1st relic you play looks absolutely terrible value and tempo wise. the 2nd relic look a mediocre card (and mediocre rarely makes it in standard) and it’s only by the 3rd relic that they start to pick up.
including the locations, you have effectively 8 cards for 10 relic casts per game (plus whatever their legendary will do, which will probably be relic dependent as well)
since the value only starts to come from the 3rd and onwards relic, it seems sketchy to me.
But ofc, there should probably be more cards to enable said archetype (like the aforementioned legendary), so who knows.
