I just do not accept it… 3 games and each one had the cards for very specific deck types (like Dragon Druid), He never played a SINGLE card that was NOT in that arch deck.
Then I played a Sludge Warlock AGAIN not a SINGLE card played that was not in that deck…
These people are CHEATING or Blizzard is NOT putting us against other arena players.

They’re using bot-farmed decks. They’re not technically hacking and they’re human.

What does that even mean? How do you FARM a deck for Arena?
This is the bot life cycle:
- Set up a bot to play with a random class and a deck that ideally does not require any packs or dust to build.
- Have bot play a lot in Standard or Wild. Get lots of XP = lots of gold.
- Use giant pile of gold to draft a godly Arena deck. If it’s not amazing immediately Retire the Arena and retry.
- Sell godly Arena deck on the black market for just a few bucks.
- Black market customer has amazing Arena run.
- Account is discarded, life cycle over.

Well my feelings towards Blizzard just soured even more.

Well it’s not their fault so much as the botters. But yeah Blizzard has a long history of being ineffectual against botters and them getting away with all kinds of crap

So you’re well informed about how bots operate. Perhaps too well informed….
Aha! I get it now. You vehemently deny the usage of bots to cover the fact that you bot yourself. You almost got away with it if it wasn’t for those meddling kids and their dog….
But seriously, you denied bots were an issue but now claim they’re an issue in arena. I’m glad you’re finally admitting it

I do believe you have confused Scr0tie with Mountaineer. To my knowledge the former never denied the existence of bots, might be mistaken as I havent read one of his posts in months now, while the latter was the one adamantly stating bots didnt exist until Blizz posted about a large bot ban wave a few months ago.
Yeah, that’s because I didn’t play Standard for approximately a year and a half but remained active on the forums commenting on Standard, purely based off data from statistics sites like HSReplay.
Then I decided to just double check myself and made Legend on the 4th of last month.
And for the most part, I think I did a good job knowing what the meta was like. Statistics don’t lie. But one thing that I was way off on was the botting problem. I grossly underestimated it, in part because that’s not actually something that Vicious Syndicate reports on. I was wrong. So it’s important to remember, in the lack of direct experience, to not get overconfident about things that I don’t actually have data for.
In conclusion, for the most part I’m unrepentant, but I confess I messed up big time regarding botting specifically.

I never outright denied their existence, that’d be silly. But I did argue that people were grossly exaggerating in cases where I now understand that they very likely were not.
It’s still possible he might have me confused for mountaineer though lol
hmm about bots isnt the above poster one ? people use bots to post on reddit and that poster has a very limited “content” all his posts are if were written using copy paste
There’s never a floor to that one.
Unironically posted.
OP, can you share replays? because I highly doubt they played cards that are not in the arena cycle atm.
There are a few bots, but the amount is highly exaggerated (in europe at least) they are usually easy to spot by haivng a Chinese name and the default card back, and it’s ulikely you encounter then until you have 5+ wins
it’s fairly easy to draft a decent archtype these days since you start with your legendary pick
It’s not even their fault as much as the people who buy those accounts to wipe the floor with normal arena players.
Supply exists because there is demand, not the other way around.
I wouldn’t understand what those people enjoy in such arena runs so much that they’re willing to pay for it knowing it’s a one of a kind thing even if I was born twice, but oh well, it happens
Especially can’t understand that demand when arena experts get surprised on a daily basis, when the decks they considered insane go 2-3 wins and the decks they considered bad go 11-12 wins
If it happens to experts, it must also happen to botters and buyers from time to time. Interesting way to spend money, to gamble for an hour or two of stomping people in a game mode which nobody even cares about
From what I’ve been able to tell, the botting problem exploded fairly recently. For a long time they largely hung out in low ranks. If you climbed above like, silver, you were usually clear of them. They’ve started being in high enough numbers to be reaching legend off of each other lately, which is why VS has only recently started mentioning them in their reports. It’s starting to skew the meta data in a way that it didn’t used to.
My experience in getting legend in the classic format was that it was like 99% basic charge starter deck bots the whole way up though. Wasn’t surprised that mode got killed off.
I wonder if implementing a verification process, only during the tutorial phase of the game, where you would have to click all the signposts or whatever to confirm that your a real person, or something of that ilk, would help to get rid of the bots? If a human had to sit there to button click at the beginning, or end, of each game before starting the next, I would think it would help to at least reduce the numbers of bot.
I know it would be an inconvenience, and may discourage new players, but give a message at the verification process along the lines of " We apologize for the inconvenience, however to help combat botting, and improve your playing experience, we have implemented this process during the tutorial. Once you have completed it and begin the game at bronze 10, this process shall cease."
Just an idea. Feel free to pick it apart, or improve on it.

It’s been an issue for a while, then made worse by actiblizz flooding the game with their own bots, then after the playerbases’ outcry for a long time on it they finally dumped off of the actiblizz bots on the new players experience, to make sure they know how bot infested the game is.
The easiest way to get rid of bots…is for actiblizz to make it a priority to get rid of bots. Take a look at the efforts made in cod versus here.
I am done with Arena I get my free arena ticket make a real fast deck and retire it.
