New Priest/Warlock Rare: Brittlebone Destroyer

This is interesting: they managed to fit self-damage support for Warlock and healing support for Priest onto the same minion.

Also, it’s basically a cheaper Assassinate-on-a-stick, but with a condition that means it will usually come out a turn or two later.

Not very exciting from a Priest perspective. We already had a minion that dealt an enemy minion’s attack damage to itself with no conditions on it. Putting removal on a minion is bad from a Res perspective. Doesn’t work well with Galakrond since you lose your hero power to become Gala.

It’s almost never cheaper because you have to spend mana on activating the condition. It rocks for those “can’t be targeted” minions.

Looks neat, it’s a good value tempo removal. Lock will love it, it’ll basically be a 6 mana draw a card, destroy a minion and play a 3/3 while a good unconditional tempo removal will really help in priest when you want a flex card with a body.

unless you already have a minion with lifesteal

If you have a minion with lifesteal and aren’t at 30 health. Which you probably are, if you’ve got board control on 4.

True. Apotheosis on 3 become even nicer. Maybe this will give some juice to aggro priest.

Nice Warlock card!

Another BS Priest card! :rage:

Raza priest in wild can use it for tempo, problem is instantly dying t6 to quest mage otk with ice Block every game. Aggro gets blocked and ice blocks gets renoed and they kill other combo and control decks. I’m not sure what the intended counter is to them but there doesn’t seem to be one besides t4/t5 lethal. Even then you can still get ice blocked and otked.

Brittlebone Destroyer is instant S Tier for me.

Only 4 Mana with Aranasi Broodmother:drooling_face:

Dualclasswise the card seems like it fits both Warlock and Priest really evenly.

6/5 Star Power Card.

Ressurect is already getting attacked on all sides. It’s not a strong archetype now and when devolving missles releases it’ll have yet another counter that every mage and shaman will pretty much autoinclude. And there are plenty of ways for galakrond priest to heal their face… renew and apotheosis come to mind but there are others that sethekk veilweiver can generate even if not main decked, like radiance or holy nova and ripple.

My hope though is that a midrange priest will finally take off for real this expansion. One that doesn’t need galakrond and is able to finish games properly without dragging them out forever. Brittlebone destroyer fits perfectly into that kind of archetype. They have started pushing in that direction after all.

Yeah, I don’t have a lot of hope for Res coming back and we’re two minions in with neither one being a thing I’d want to get off of Galakrond’s hero power. But that also means neither of them sound all that appealing in a Tempo or midrange Priest.

It’s hard to separate Galakrond from Tempo because Gala is how Priest draws cards now. Two minions in and Galakrond just looks weaker than it currently is, and it’s currently clinging desperately to T3.

I guess we just gotta keep waiting to see some direction for the class.

Northshire Cleric died for this. Never forget.

This is basically a -1 mana, -1 health Vilespine Slayer, one of the most hated cards from Rogue’s Un’goro set. With Priest’s ability to give lifesteal to minions and cheap spells, this will see play.

The only thing tempo priest really needs is a proper game closer and some card draw. The dragon package affords us big ol whelp and Cleric of Scales, and I think cleric of scales is deceptively powerful. Skeletal dragon is a pretty decent card generator too. I’ve tinkered with a dragon priest this expansion and my control killer cards were two scrapyard colossus and the colossus of the moon at the top end.

You remember how sticky colossus of the moon was from running it in ressurect a couple expansions back, and scrapyard colossus is equally viable. I main decked two grave runes and psyche splits too, so if I could get a colossus to stick the combo was grave runes it and then psyce split, which gave two grave runed copies. My win rate against control warlock with that deck was close to 80%, and the galakrond priest matchup was slightly in my favor. The rest of the deck was anti aggro midrange.

Overall it wasn’t the greatest deck, but it was viable enough to get me to diamond 2 with minimal effort. I’d rate it about as good or better than galakrond. Easily tier 3 and probably tier 2, but definitely not 1. Scholomancy has some pretty broken stuff already though. So I wouldn’t discredit the possibility of a better build coming along.

That was my first thought. Then I read several responses saying it is a bad card. How do they not know? This will be the most played card for both classes.

A certain percent of the playerbase is just really really bad at judging cards.

And blizz isn’t right? Because we all know what happened to DH…

That has pretty much nothing to do with what I said, congratz.
