I saw this and don’t know what to think. The math on this has got to be awkward.
got any clue how this works, and does the Ele tag help?
note to viewers that the deck has to have exactly 100 mana of minions starting not more or (obviously) less
This is such a cool card, finally something to explore for those that like building decks. A+ design by the Devs hope to unpack it
.
Well, you could play the mage minion that splits an elemental into 2, which would be crazy…you could also play the draw an elemental minion in wild to get this out faster…but the total 100 count seems like it might be a bit high.
if ALL cards in your deck are minions, that means on average you need 3.33 cost which is not the greatest curve…
This seems like it would be hard to do in standard…Wild, a bit easier.
I can just imagine some people thinking…ugh, not more math! Might be fun to play with, although I can see this getting dicey with cards like Elise also having certain requirements. Would require a fair amount of thought/planning/compromise and not sure it’s actually worth it tbh, especially as you don’t know HOW those stats get split.
Well, if you toss this, Elise and rafaam into a deck, that 65 mana of minions, so you have 35 mana to split across the rest of the minions that make up for an unaccounted 28 cards, which means… ugh, math.
Just play it in Dh or hunter and use that new survivor neutral to make sure this hits kayn or magma hound.
I presume this minion counts itself as part of the 100 cost? With all the cards with deckbuilding options (elise, that card, the odd/even guy) they have to be bringing back highlander later in the year right
It would keep with their recycling old hearthstone and probably be rather welcome given how popular its always been.
It would be great if the card had a counter on it while deck building, to show you the cost of your deck while building it.
Like you add this minion first and it shows (6)
Deckbuilding restrictions sound amazing until everyone is copying a list and then nobody is making fun decks anymore.
Well, a Rafaam deck would make it easier to include both this and elise as adding timethief Rafaam automatically meets the Elise requirement. Though I doubt the deck would be viable
So, this thing is just for giggles?
No, it just needs a very specific deck. It limits deckbuilding enough that it might be too detrimental to just have an entire deck of minions and high cost ones at that.
It’s probably going to see way more play in wild though.
I can think of a deck carrying 2 types of giants, just the molten giants are already a total of 40, then you fill the rest with stonetusk boars, and common minions with charge like the 2-cost blue murloc.
So you build the deck spend all the time to work out the math and then it’s the last card in your deck.
I am guessing it remembers the starting number and locks in a check mark like Reno decks. In that case you could…
If you can somehow get them into hand in a reasonable amount of time.
Also why is this not a Dragon as well? It’s LITERALLY an Elemental Dragon in the Lore.
Dragons are typically not tagged as dragons when they’re not currently dragons. But I guess her visage form is still an elemental?
Reddit is saying that the devs are going to have a counter similar to how deck card counter works so you will know when you are at 100/100 when you include this minion in deck.
The curve CAN’T be that good. If you take 25 minions and 5 spells (which is consider a super minion heavy deck) you are at an average cost of 4 mana per minion.
Your minion curve will be pretty weird
1x3
2x4
3x4
4x4
5x5
6x6
That’s 100 mana there.
That’s a LOT of 5 and 6 drops. 1/3 of your deck is 5 and 6 mana which is considered top heavy.
You have to really thin out your deck just right.
And then, after all that, you are only giving 100 stats to minions in your deck that you HAVEN’T draw. So what’s the best case scenario here? You have to hit a charge minion, right?
Amalgam is out so no infinite buffs. The only thing I can think of is getting Broxigar then shuffling it back in deck then doing this. There really aren’t many charge minions
For the same reason dragons in their humanoid forms are not given the dragon tag
With the ceaseless expanse and playhouse giant ‘re going away after rotation, a deck with 100 mana cost minions would be horrible curve.
